3. Setup and Fitment
3.1 Unpacking and Initial Inspection
Carefully remove the helmet from its packaging. Inspect the helmet for any visible damage or defects. Ensure all components, including the shield and chin strap, are securely attached and functional before first use.
3.2 Achieving the Correct Fit
A proper fit is crucial for safety and comfort. The Gringo SV helmet is designed with three shell sizes to provide a more accurate fit across various head sizes. The internal comfort liner and cheek pads are removable and replaceable, allowing for fine-tuning of the fit.
- Cheek Pad Customization: All cheek pads fit all helmet sizes and range from 5mm (looser fit) to 29mm (tighter fit). This allows for precise adjustment to your facial structure.
- Liner Replacement: Replaceable liners are helmet size-specific. They can be swapped out to maintain freshness and hygiene.

4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Ventilation Control
The Gringo SV helmet features four vents: two at the front and two at the top. The top vents can be opened and closed to regulate airflow. Additionally, there is one exhaust vent at the rear to facilitate air circulation over the top of your head and out the back, improving comfort and reducing moisture buildup.
4.2 Shield Operation
The CE-certified polycarbonate shield is equipped with an improved locking mechanism, similar to the Biltwell Lane Splitter. This mechanism ensures the shield remains securely closed during rides. The rugged hinge hardware allows the shield to be kept open at slow speeds for increased airflow.

5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Helmet
To clean the exterior of your helmet, use a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners, as these can damage the finish and protective coatings. For the shield, use a dedicated helmet shield cleaner or mild soap and water, and dry with a soft, lint-free cloth.
5.2 Liner and Cheek Pad Care
The comfort liner and cheek pads are removable for cleaning. Hand wash them with mild soap and cold water, then air dry completely before reinserting them into the helmet. Regular cleaning helps maintain hygiene and extends the life of your helmet's interior.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Fogging Shield
If your shield fogs up, ensure the adjustable top vents are open to increase airflow. The shield also features an anti-fog treatment, but in extreme conditions, additional anti-fog solutions may be applied.
6.2 Loose Fit
If the helmet feels too loose, consider replacing the cheek pads with a thicker size (up to 29mm) to achieve a more snug fit. Ensure the chin strap is properly adjusted and secured using the double D-ring fastener.
6.3 Excessive Noise
Excessive wind noise can sometimes be reduced by ensuring the shield is fully closed and locked. Check for any gaps around the shield's seal. If issues persist, consult the manufacturer's support.
