1. Introduction

The Sinocare Safe AQ Smart Blood Glucose Monitor is designed for the quantitative measurement of glucose in fresh capillary whole blood. It is intended for self-testing by people with diabetes and by healthcare professionals as an aid in monitoring the effectiveness of diabetes control. This device provides fast, accurate, and reliable measurements of blood sugar levels with no coding required.

2. Safety Information

Read all instructions carefully before using the Sinocare Safe AQ Smart Blood Glucose Monitor. Failure to follow instructions may result in inaccurate test results or improper use.

• For in vitro diagnostic use only. Do not use this device for the diagnosis of diabetes.
• Keep the device, test strips, and lancets out of reach of children.

4. Setup

4.1. Installing Batteries

The Sinocare Safe AQ Smart monitor requires two AAA batteries (not included in all packages). Ensure batteries are installed correctly for proper operation.

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the meter.
2. Slide or lift the cover to open the compartment.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, paying close attention to the correct polarity (+ and -) markings inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2. Setting Up the Lancing Device

The lancing device is used to obtain a small blood sample. Proper setup ensures a comfortable and effective puncture.

1. Unscrew the lancing device cap.
2. Insert a new, sterile lancet firmly into the lancet holder.
3. Carefully twist off the protective cap of the lancet and save it for safe disposal.
4. Replace the lancing device cap.
5. Adjust the penetration depth by rotating the cap. Start with a lower setting (e.g., 2-3) for sensitive skin and adjust as needed for a sufficient blood drop. The device offers 9 different depth settings.
6. Pull back the cocking control until it clicks, indicating the device is primed and ready to use.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1. Preparing for a Test

Proper preparation is crucial for accurate results and hygiene.

1. Wash your hands thoroughly with warm, soapy water and dry them completely. This helps prevent infection and ensures an accurate sample.
2. Ensure the test strips are within their expiry date and have been stored correctly in their original vial.
3. Prepare the lancing device with a new, sterile lancet.

5.2. Performing a Blood Glucose Test

Follow these steps to perform a blood glucose test:

1. Insert a new test strip into the test strip slot of the meter with the black blocks facing up. The meter will automatically turn on and display a blood drop symbol, indicating it is ready for a sample.

2. Puncture the side of your fingertip (or an alternative site as advised by your healthcare professional) with the prepared lancing device. Gently squeeze your finger to form a small, round drop of blood.
3. Apply the blood sample to the absorbent tip of the test strip. The meter will automatically draw the blood into the strip. Do not smear the blood.
4. Wait for 5 seconds. The blood glucose reading will appear on the display. The meter's innovative chip and upgraded algorithm ensure high accuracy.

5. Record your result if necessary. The meter automatically stores up to 500 test results with date and time.
6. Remove the used test strip from the meter and dispose of it along with the used lancet in a designated sharps container.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Cleaning the Meter

Regular cleaning helps maintain the meter's performance and hygiene.

• Wipe the exterior of the meter with a soft, damp cloth. You may use a mild detergent solution if necessary, then wipe with a clean, damp cloth.
• Do not immerse the meter in water or any other liquid.
• Avoid using harsh cleaning agents, solvents, or abrasive materials, as these can damage the device.

6.2. Storage

Proper storage ensures the longevity of your device and the accuracy of your test strips.

• Store the meter and test strips in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and heat sources. The recommended storage temperature for the meter is between 10°C and 30°C (50°F and 86°F).
• Test strips must be stored in their original vial with the cap tightly closed immediately after removing a strip. Do not transfer strips to another container.
• Do not refrigerate test strips.
• The strips have a storage period of up to 24 months (6 months after opened).
