This visual guide illustrates the different measurement functions available on the device, including continuous, volume, area, and arithmetic operations.

5.1 Single Distance Measurement

This is the default mode for measuring a single distance.

  1. Ensure the device is powered on.
  2. Point the laser beam at the target.
  3. Press the ON button once. The measurement will be displayed instantly.

5.2 Continuous Measurement (Tracking)

This mode allows for continuous measurement as you move the device, displaying real-time distance updates.

  1. From single distance mode, press the FUNC button repeatedly until the continuous measurement icon appears on the display.
  2. Move the device slowly towards or away from the target. The display will update continuously.
  3. Press the ON button to stop continuous measurement and hold the last value.

5.3 Area Measurement

To calculate the area of a rectangular space.

  1. Press the FUNC button until the area measurement icon appears.
  2. Measure the first side (e.g., length) by pressing ON.
  3. Measure the second side (e.g., width) by pressing ON again.
  4. The calculated area will be displayed.

5.4 Volume Measurement

To calculate the volume of a space.

  1. Press the FUNC button until the volume measurement icon appears.
  2. Measure the length by pressing ON.
  3. Measure the width by pressing ON.
  4. Measure the height by pressing ON.
  5. The calculated volume will be displayed.

5.5 Pythagorean Measurement (Indirect Measurement)

This mode uses the Pythagorean theorem to calculate distances indirectly, such as height or length, when direct measurement is not possible.

5.5.1 Two-Point Pythagorean Method

Used to calculate the height of an object when you can measure the hypotenuse and one leg.

  1. Press the FUNC button until the two-point Pythagorean icon appears.
  2. Measure the hypotenuse (e.g., from the base of the device to the top of the object) by pressing ON.
  3. Measure the horizontal distance (e.g., from the device to the base of the object) by pressing ON.
  4. The calculated height will be displayed.

5.5.2 Three-Point Pythagorean Method

Used for more complex indirect height measurements.

  1. Press the FUNC button until the three-point Pythagorean icon appears.
  2. Follow the on-screen prompts to measure the three required distances.
  3. The calculated height will be displayed.

6. Unit and Reference Settings

6.1 Changing Measurement Units

The device supports Ft (feet), Ft+In (feet and inches), In (inches), and M (meters).

  1. Hold the FUNC button for 3 seconds to enter Unit Setting Mode.
  2. Press the FUNC button repeatedly to cycle through the available units.
  3. Press the ON button to confirm your selection and exit Unit Setting Mode.

  • Store the device in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Remove batteries if the device will not be used for an extended period to prevent leakage.

8. Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Device does not power on. Low or dead batteries; Incorrect battery installation. Replace batteries; Check battery polarity.
Inaccurate measurements. Laser lens dirty; Measurement surface too reflective/absorbent; Device not stable during measurement. Clean laser lens; Use a target plate for difficult surfaces; Ensure device is stable.
Display is dim or flickering. Low battery. Replace batteries.
Error message on display. Measurement out of range; Obstruction in laser path. Ensure target is within 131ft range; Clear laser path.
