3. Safety Information
- Installation of CT sensors must be performed by a qualified electrician.
- Ensure power is disconnected at the main breaker before installing or servicing the CT sensors.
- Do not attempt to open or repair the device. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.
- Keep the device away from water and excessive moisture.
- Operate the device within specified voltage and current limits.
4. Setup Guide
4.1. Transmitter and CT Sensor Installation
- Power Disconnection: Locate your main electrical panel. WARNING: Turn off the main breaker to disconnect power to your home before proceeding. Verify power is off using a voltage tester.
- Mounting the Transmitter: Mount the transmitter unit (white box with antenna port) inside or near your electrical panel. Ensure it is in a location where the antenna can transmit effectively.
- Attaching the SMA Antenna: Screw the SMA antenna onto the designated port on the transmitter.
- Installing CT Sensors:
- Identify the main live wires (typically black or red) coming from your main breaker.
- Open the CT sensors. Clamp one CT sensor around each main live wire. Ensure the arrow on the CT sensor points towards the load (away from the main breaker).
- For monitoring individual circuits, identify the live wire for the desired circuit and clamp a 60A CT sensor around it. The efergy Emax supports up to 4 x 60A sensors for circuit-level monitoring.
- Connect the CT sensor cables to the corresponding input ports (1-4 for 60A, A-C for 120/200A) on the transmitter.
- Powering the Transmitter: Connect the transmitter's power cord to a suitable power source, typically by wiring it into a circuit within the electrical panel (consult a qualified electrician for this step).
- Restore Power: Once all connections are secure and verified, turn the main breaker back on.
