4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Pairing Sensors and Selecting Melodies

The sensors and receiver are typically pre-paired from the factory. If re-pairing or changing melodies is needed, follow these steps:

  1. Step 1 (Select Melody): Press the "forward" or "backward" button on the receiver to cycle through the 20 available melodies. Stop when you hear your desired melody.
  2. Step 2 (Enter Pairing Mode): Long press the volume button on the receiver for 5-7 seconds until the receiver emits a "ding" sound and its LED blinks rapidly. This indicates it is in pairing mode.
  3. Step 3 (Activate Sensor): Quickly separate the two parts of the door sensor (e.g., open the door) to send a signal to the receiver.
  4. Step 4 (Confirmation): After successful pairing, the receiver will sound the selected melody to confirm that the door or window has been opened.
Detailed steps on how to pair the door sensor with the receiver and select a melody, showing buttons for melody selection, volume control, and the sensor activation process.

4.2 Adjusting Volume

Press the volume button on the receiver briefly to cycle through the 5 adjustable volume levels (0 dB, 30 dB, 60 dB, 90 dB, 110 dB). The 0 dB setting is a mute mode, providing only a visual LED alert.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Battery Replacement (Sensors)

When the sensor's battery is low, the red LED indicator on the sensor may flash or the sensor may stop transmitting signals reliably. To replace the battery:

  1. Carefully pry open the sensor casing using a small screwdriver.
  2. Remove the old CR2450 battery.
  3. Insert a new CR2450 3V Lithium battery, ensuring correct polarity.
  4. Close the sensor casing securely.

5.2 Cleaning

Wipe the receiver and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or allow water to enter the units.

6. Troubleshooting

  • No Alert When Door Opens:
    • Check if the sensor and magnet are aligned correctly and the gap is less than 0.6 inches (1.5 cm).
    • Ensure the sensor battery is not depleted. Replace if necessary.
    • Verify the receiver is plugged in and powered on.
    • Re-pair the sensor with the receiver following the steps in Section 4.1.
    • Ensure the receiver's volume is not set to 0 dB (mute).
  • Short Operating Range:
    • Relocate the receiver to a more central position or closer to the sensors.
    • Avoid placing the receiver or sensors near large metal objects, thick walls, or other electronic devices that may cause interference.
  • False Alarms or Random Activation:
    • Check the sensor and magnet alignment; ensure they are securely mounted and not shifting.
    • Ensure the gap between the sensor and magnet is consistent and within the specified range.
    • Replace the sensor battery, as low battery can sometimes cause erratic behavior.
  • Receiver Not Responding:
    • Try plugging the receiver into a different electrical outlet.
    • Perform a factory reset (if available, consult manufacturer for specific instructions) and re-pair all sensors.
