The MIDI Captain features two primary operating modes: Normal Mode and Geek Mode. These modes offer different levels of customization and control.

Geek Mode significantly expands the control capabilities, offering 16 pages, each with 8 fully customizable buttons. Each button can send up to 12 independent MIDI commands (6 on press-down, 6 on release-up). This allows for a total of 1536 commands, effectively turning the MIDI Captain into a highly versatile controller.

Entering Operating Modes

To enter a specific mode, hold down the corresponding key while powering on the device:

• Normal Mode: Hold key 'A' when powering on.
• Geek Mode: Hold key '2' when powering on.
• Geek Mode (LED Always On): Hold key '3' when powering on.

Once a mode is selected, the device remembers it for subsequent power-ons, unless you manually switch modes again.
