Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
Scanner not powering on. | USB cable not securely connected or host device power issue. | Ensure the USB cable is firmly connected to both the scanner and the host device. Try connecting to a different USB port or a different host device to rule out port/device issues. |
Scanner not reading barcodes. | Barcode damaged/poor quality, incorrect symbology enabled, dirty scanning window, or barcode out of range. | Inspect the barcode for damage or poor print quality. Ensure the scanner is configured to read the specific barcode type (usually automatic). Clean the scanning window. Ensure the barcode is within the scanner's optimal reading distance. |
Scanner beeps but no data appears on host device. | Host application not ready to receive input, or incorrect interface mode. | Ensure the cursor is active in the desired input field of your application (e.g., text editor, spreadsheet). Verify the scanner's interface mode (e.g., USB HID Keyboard, USB COM Port) matches your host system's requirements. |
Scanner is in presentation mode when held. | Motionix™ technology not detecting movement or configuration issue. | Ensure the scanner is picked up with a clear motion.
