Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your GoPro HERO12 Black.

  • Cleaning the Lens and Screens: Use the provided microfiber cloth to gently wipe the camera lens and both screens. For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Cleaning the Camera Body: After use in saltwater or dirty environments, rinse the camera with fresh water and allow it to air dry completely before opening any doors.
  • Battery Care: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid fully discharging batteries for extended periods.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the camera and accessories in the provided carrying case to protect them from dust and physical damage.

Troubleshooting

Here are solutions to common issues you might encounter:

  • Camera Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is charged and properly inserted. If the battery is completely drained, it may take a few minutes of charging before the camera responds.
  • Camera Getting Warm During Recording: It is normal for the camera to get warm during extended high-resolution video recording, especially in warm environments. This does not typically indicate a malfunction.
  • App Connection Issues: Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your phone and camera. Restart both devices and try connecting again. Make sure the Quik app is updated to the latest version.
  • Poor Video/Photo Quality: Check that the lens is clean and free of smudges. Ensure you are using appropriate resolution and frame rate settings for your lighting conditions. Verify that the memory card is compatible and not full.
