4. Setup
4.1 Powering On the Device
The DH77 does not have an internal battery for standalone power. It powers on automatically when connected to a vehicle's OBD2 port or battery.
4.2 Connecting for OBD2 Diagnostics
- Locate the vehicle's 16-pin OBD2 diagnostic link connector (DLC). This is usually found under the dashboard on the driver's side.
- Plug the OBD2 cable from the DH77 into the vehicle's DLC.
- The DH77 will power on automatically and display the main menu.
4.3 Connecting for Battery Testing
- Ensure the vehicle's ignition is off.
- Connect the red alligator clip of the battery test cable to the positive (+) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
- Connect the black alligator clip of the battery test cable to the negative (-) terminal of the vehicle's battery.
- The DH77 will power on automatically and display the battery test menu.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Navigating the Menu
Use the directional arrow buttons (Up, Down, Left, Right) to navigate through menu options. Press the OK button to confirm a selection and the ESC button to return to the previous screen.
5.2 OBD2 Diagnostic Functions
After connecting the DH77 to the vehicle's OBD2 port, select 'Diagnose' from the main menu to access the following functions:
- Read Codes: Displays current, pending, and permanent Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
- Erase Codes: Clears DTCs from the vehicle's computer and turns off the Check Engine Light (MIL). Ensure the issue causing the code is resolved before clearing.
- Live Data: Displays real-time parameters from the vehicle's sensors in text or graph format.
- Freeze Frame: Shows a snapshot of vehicle operating conditions at the time a fault code was set.

5.3 Battery Tester Functions
After connecting the DH77 to the vehicle's battery, select 'Battery Tester' from the main menu to access the following functions:
- Battery Test: Performs a comprehensive analysis of the battery's health, including State of Health (SOH), State of Charge (SOC), voltage, and internal resistance.
- Cranking Test: Measures the battery's ability to crank the engine, providing insights into its starting power.
- Charging Test: Evaluates the vehicle's charging system (alternator, rectifier, etc.) to ensure proper charging voltage.
