3. Setup and Installation

3.2. Door Preparation
Verify your door dimensions meet the requirements for installation. The lock is compatible with standard door preparations.
3.3. Installing the Latch Bolt
Insert the latch bolt into the door edge. Ensure the latch bolt face is flush with the door edge and the slotted hole is centered. Secure it with the provided screws.

3.4. Installing Exterior and Interior Assemblies
Route the cable from the exterior assembly through the door hole and connect it to the interior assembly. Secure both assemblies to the door using the mounting plate and screws. Ensure the tailpiece is horizontal and the thumb turn is vertical for proper operation.

3.5. Battery Installation and Activation
Install the rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack into the interior assembly. The lock will activate upon battery insertion. Follow the instructions in the Alfred Home App to complete the initial setup and calibration.
4. Operating the Lock
4.1. Unlocking Methods
- PIN Code: Enter your programmed PIN code on the illuminated touchscreen keypad.
- RFID Card: Present a registered RFID card to the built-in RFID reader.
- Key Override: Use the traditional mechanical key as a backup.
- Alfred Home App: Use the Bluetooth connection on your mobile device via the Alfred Home App to unlock.
- Remote Unlock (with Alfred Connect WIFI bridge, sold separately): Control your lock remotely via the Alfred Home App.

4.2. Locking Methods
- Manual Lock: Rotate the thumb turn on the interior assembly.
- One-Touch Lock: Press and hold any key on the touchscreen for 2 seconds, or press the checkmark button once without entering a code.
- Auto Re-lock: The lock features an adjustable auto re-lock timer (30 sec, 1 min, 2 min, 3 min) which automatically locks the deadbolt after a set period.
- Alfred Home App: Use the Bluetooth connection on your mobile device via the Alfred Home App to lock.
- Remote Lock (with Alfred Connect WIFI bridge, sold separately): Control your lock remotely via the Alfred Home App.
4.3. Advanced Features
- Door Position Sensors: These sensors detect when your door is physically open, preventing auto-locking if the door is not fully closed.
- Privacy Mode: Activate Privacy Mode from the interior to disable all external access methods except the master code and mechanical key.
- Away Mode: When activated, an alarm will sound if the lock is accessed via mechanical key or thumb turn, and user PIN codes/fingerprints will be disabled. Only the master PIN code or app can disable Away Mode.
- Voice Control: With the Alfred Connect WIFI bridge (sold separately), the lock is compatible with Hey Google and Alexa for voice commands.
5. Maintenance
5.1. Battery Management
The lock features a built-in low battery warning on both the touchscreen and within the Alfred Home App. When battery levels are low, recharge the lithium-ion battery pack. In case of complete battery failure, the lock can be temporarily powered via a USB-C port on the bottom of the outside panel for emergency access to change the battery pack.

5.2. Cleaning
Clean the touchscreen and lock body with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

- Lock not responding: Check battery levels. Use the USB-C emergency power port if needed.
- App connectivity issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device. If using the Wi-Fi bridge, verify its connection and proximity to the lock.
- Keypad unresponsive in cold weather: Ensure the keypad is dry and free of ice. Repeated presses may be necessary in extreme cold.
- Auto-lock not engaging: Check door position sensors to ensure the door is fully closed and aligned.
- PIN code/RFID card not working: Verify the code/card is correctly programmed in the Alfred Home App.
