2. Setup
2.1 Unboxing and Placement
Carefully remove all components from the packaging. Place the XL Self-Empty Base on a hard, level surface against a wall, ensuring there are no obstacles within 3 feet (0.9 meters) on either side and 5 feet (1.5 meters) in front of the base. Plug the base into a power outlet.
2.2 Initial Charge and App Setup
Place the robot onto the base to charge. The robot will begin charging automatically. Download the SharkClean app from your mobile device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your robot to your home Wi-Fi network and complete the initial mapping run. This mapping process allows the robot to learn your home's layout for efficient cleaning.

3. Operating Instructions
3.1 Cleaning Modes and Technologies
- DirtDetect Technology: The robot senses hidden debris and automatically boosts suction power and cleaning passes to thoroughly clean the area.
- EdgeDetect Technology: Uses blasts of air to pull debris from corners and edges into the cleaning path, ensuring thorough edge cleaning.
- FloorDetect Technology: Auto-detects floor types (carpet or hardfloor) and adjusts brushroll engagement to maximize debris pickup and cleaning performance.
- NeverStuck Technology: The robot lifts and lowers itself to maneuver over obstacles, cross thresholds, and avoid getting stuck, ensuring complete cleaning missions.

3.2 Scheduling and Zone Cleaning
Use the SharkClean app to set cleaning schedules, initiate on-demand cleaning, or target specific rooms or zones. You can define no-go zones on your map to prevent the robot from entering certain areas.

4. Maintenance
4.1 Self-Empty Base Maintenance
The XL Self-Empty Base is bagless and holds up to 60 days' worth of dust and debris. It features a HEPA Anti-Allergen Seal, trapping 99.97% of dust and allergens. The integrated Odor Neutralizer technology ensures a fresher smelling home by trapping odors within the base.

4.2 Robot Dustbin and Brushroll Cleaning
Periodically check and clean the robot's internal dustbin and the self-cleaning brushroll. The powerful suction and self-cleaning brushroll are engineered to pick up pet hair effectively. After each cleaning, the robot traps pet hair in the base with an Anti-Allergen Seal.

5. Troubleshooting
If your robot vacuum encounters issues, refer to the following common troubleshooting tips:
- Robot getting stuck: Ensure the NeverStuck Technology is active. Clear any small obstacles or loose cables from the cleaning path. The robot is designed to lift and maneuver over most thresholds.
- Poor cleaning performance: Check the robot's internal dustbin and brushroll for clogs or tangled hair. Ensure the self-empty base is not full and its filters are clean. For carpets, DirtDetect should automatically increase suction.
- Base not emptying: Verify the self-empty base is properly connected to power and the robot is correctly docked. Check the base's dustbin for fullness and ensure no blockages in the suction path.
- App connectivity issues: Ensure your Wi-Fi network is stable and the robot is within range. Restart the app and the robot if necessary.
- Battery life concerns: The battery life is rated for 90 minutes. Large homes or very dirty areas may require multiple charging cycles to complete a full clean.
