4. Setup Instructions

Follow these steps to properly set up your VEDINDUST DVI Extender:

  1. Connect the DVI Source: Connect your DVI source device (e.g., computer, laptop) to the DVI IN port of the Transmitter (TX) unit using a DVI cable (not included).
  2. Connect the DVI Display: Connect your DVI display device (e.g., monitor, projector, TV) to the DVI OUT port of the Receiver (RX) unit using a DVI cable (not included).
  3. Connect TX and RX Units: Use a single Cat5e, Cat6, or Cat7 Ethernet cable to connect the OUT (RJ45) port of the Transmitter unit to the IN (RJ45) port of the Receiver unit.

4.1. EDID Copy Function

The EDID (Extended Display Identification Data) copy function ensures optimal compatibility between your DVI source and display by allowing the extender to learn and transmit the display's preferred settings. This can resolve display issues or ensure the best possible resolution.

  1. Ensure the Transmitter (TX) unit is connected to the DVI source and the Receiver (RX) unit is connected to the DVI display, and both units are powered on.
  2. On the Transmitter (TX) unit, press and hold the EDID button for approximately 3 seconds.

6. Troubleshooting

    • Ensure all DVI cables are securely connected between the source, TX unit, RX unit, and display.
