4. Installation Guide

Professional installation is recommended. The installation process is generally straightforward, requiring minimal tools. Ensure the vehicle is turned off and the parking brake is engaged before beginning.

Required Tools:

• 10mm Socket Wrench
• Flathead Screwdriver (or panel removal tool)

Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Vehicle: Open the vehicle door where the mirror is to be replaced.
2. Remove Interior Trim Panel: Carefully remove the small triangular interior trim panel located at the corner of the door, near the mirror base. This panel is typically held by clips.
3. Disconnect Wiring: Locate the electrical connector for the existing mirror. Press the catch on the connector and carefully unplug it.
4. Remove Mounting Nuts: Using a 10mm socket wrench, loosen the three nuts securing the mirror to the door frame. It is recommended to leave the top nut partially threaded to support the mirror while removing the others.

6. Prepare New Mirror: Remove the protective rubber caps from the studs of the new YITAMOTOR towing mirror.
7. Route Wiring: The wiring for the new mirror exits from the bottom of the mirror base. If your vehicle's original mirror wiring exited from the center, you may need to slightly enlarge the existing hole in the door frame to accommodate the new connector. Ensure the wiring passes through the hole without pinching.
8. Mount New Mirror: Position the new towing mirror onto the door frame, aligning the studs with the holes. Ensure the gasket is properly seated against the door.
9. Secure Mounting Nuts: Hand-tighten the three 10mm nuts onto the mirror studs. Then, use the 10mm socket wrench to tighten them securely, ensuring not to overtighten.
10. Connect Wiring: Plug the new mirror's electrical connector into the vehicle's wiring harness.
11. Test Functions: Before reattaching the trim panel, test all mirror functions: power adjustment, heating, turn signals, and backup lamps.
12. Reinstall Trim Panel: Once all functions are verified, reattach the interior triangular trim panel.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power Adjustable Main Mirror

Use your vehicle's existing mirror control switch to adjust the main mirror glass. The mirror can be moved up, down, left, and right to achieve the desired rear view.

5.2 Power Heated Glass

The main mirror glass is heated to prevent fogging and ice buildup. This function typically activates automatically with your vehicle's rear defroster or a dedicated mirror heat switch, if equipped.

5.3 Manually Adjustable Convex Lens

The lower convex spotter mirror is manually adjustable. Gently push the mirror glass to position it for optimal blind spot coverage.

5.4 Turn Signal and Backup Lamp

The integrated turn signal lights will activate in conjunction with your vehicle's turn signals. The backup lamp will illuminate when the vehicle is in reverse, providing additional light.

5.5 Manual Telescoping

To extend the mirror for wider towing visibility, grasp the mirror housing and pull it outwards. The mirror arms can be extended by approximately 3 inches. To retract, push the mirror housing back inwards until it locks into its original position.

5.6 Manual Folding

To fold the mirror inward (e.g., for parking in tight spaces or narrow passages), gently push the mirror housing towards the vehicle. To return it to the driving position, pull it outwards until it locks into place.
