The OLIGHT Baton4 is a compact and powerful Everyday Carry (EDC) flashlight designed for versatility and reliability. Setup

Initial Use and Charging

Before first use, ensure the battery is fully charged. The Baton4 utilizes a magnetic charging system for convenience. Simply attach the magnetic charging cable to the tail cap of the flashlight. The indicator on the cable will show charging status.

The flashlight features a protective plastic film inside the battery compartment to prevent discharge during shipping. Remove this film before first use by unscrewing the tail cap, removing the battery, peeling off the film, and reinserting the battery with the positive (+) end facing the head of the flashlight. Securely screw the tail cap back on.

Operating Instructions

Basic Operation

• Turn On/Off: Single press the side switch to turn the flashlight on or off.
• Change Brightness: When the flashlight is on, press and hold the side switch to cycle through Low, Medium, and High modes. Release the switch to select the desired brightness.
• Moonlight Mode: When the flashlight is off, press and hold the side switch for approximately one second to activate Moonlight mode (0.5 lumens).
• Turbo Mode: Double press the side switch quickly to activate Turbo mode (1300 lumens). Double press again to return to the previous mode.
• Strobe Mode: Triple press the side switch quickly to activate Strobe mode. Single press to exit Strobe mode.
• Lockout/Unlock: When the flashlight is off, press and hold the side switch for approximately two seconds until the moonlight mode briefly turns on and then off. The flashlight is now in lockout mode. To unlock, press and hold the side switch for approximately two seconds until the moonlight mode turns on.

The Baton4 features intuitive indicators around the side switch to display brightness level and battery power, providing instant insight into the flashlight's status.

Multifunctional Usage

The flat magnetic tail cap allows the Baton4 to stand steadily or be attached to iron objects, providing convenient hands-free lighting. The dual-direction pocket clip offers flexible carrying options, including attaching to a hat brim for use as a headlamp.

Maintenance

Charging

Recharge the flashlight using the provided magnetic charging cable. The indicator on the cable will turn green when fully charged. Ensure the magnetic contact points on the flashlight and cable are clean and free of debris for optimal charging.

Cleaning and Care

Regularly clean the lens and body of the flashlight with a soft, clean cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals. If the threads become dirty, apply a small amount of silicone grease to maintain smooth operation.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues and Solutions

• Flashlight Not Turning On: Ensure the battery is fully charged and inserted correctly with the positive end facing the head. Check if the lockout mode is activated (refer to Operating Instructions for unlocking).
• Dim Light Output: The battery may be low. Recharge the flashlight. Also, ensure the lens is clean.
• Charging Issues: Verify that the magnetic charging cable is securely connected to both the flashlight and a power source. Clean the magnetic contact points on both the flashlight and the cable.
• Overheating: The Baton4 has a built-in thermal management system. In Turbo or High mode, the flashlight may automatically reduce brightness to prevent overheating. This is normal operation.
