3. Setup Guide

3.1 Powering On

  1. Main Display Unit: Connect the provided charging adapter to the main display unit and plug it into a power outlet. The display will light up.
  2. Wireless Sensors: Open the battery compartment on the back of each wireless sensor. Insert 2 x AA batteries (not included) into each sensor, observing the correct polarity (+/-). Close the battery compartment.

3.2 Sensor Pairing

The main unit should automatically detect and pair with the wireless sensors once they are powered on. Allow a few minutes for the sensors to transmit data to the main unit. If a sensor does not connect, try the following:

  • Ensure the sensors are within the transmission range (up to 330ft/100m in open air).
  • Press the 'TX' button inside the sensor's battery compartment to manually send a signal.
  • Restart both the main unit and the sensors.

3.3 Initial Settings (Time, Date, Units)

The DT6 features an RCC atomic clock for automatic time synchronization. Upon initial power-up, the unit will attempt to receive the atomic clock signal. This process may take several hours, especially in areas with weak signals. You can manually set the time and date if needed.

  • Refer to the user manual for specific button functions to manually set time, date, and preferred temperature units (°F/°C).
  • Ensure the main unit is placed in an area where it can receive the atomic clock signal, away from electronic interference.

  • Ice Alerts: Receive notifications for potentially icy conditions.
  • Low Battery Notifications: The display will indicate when sensor batteries are low.
  • Ventilation Reminders: Prompts to open or close windows to maintain a healthy indoor environment.

4.6 Clock and Calendar Functions

  • The display shows the current date, clock, and calendar.
  • RCC atomic clock signal reception ensures precise timekeeping.
  • Supports 7 languages for displaying the day of the week.
  • Features dual alarm clocks and a snooze function.

5. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the main unit and sensors with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace batteries in the wireless sensors when the low battery indicator appears on the main display. Use fresh, high-quality AA batteries.
  • Sensor Placement: For accurate outdoor readings, place the wireless sensor in a shaded, well-ventilated area, protected from direct sunlight and precipitation. While the sensors are designed for outdoor use, direct exposure to heavy rain or prolonged moisture can affect performance.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Inaccurate Temperature/Humidity ReadingsSensors not stabilized; improper sensor placement; interference.Allow 6-8 hours for sensors to stabilize after setup. Ensure outdoor sensor is in a shaded, well-ventilated area. Avoid placing near heat sources or direct sunlight.
Wireless Sensor Not ConnectingOut of range; low sensor battery; interference; pairing issue.Move sensor closer to the main unit. Replace sensor batteries. Press the 'TX' button on the sensor. Restart both units.
Atomic Clock Not SynchronizingWeak signal; interference; incorrect time zone setting.Place the main unit near a window, away from electronic devices. Allow sufficient time for synchronization (overnight). Manually set time if atomic sync is consistently unavailable.
Display is Dim or IntermittentNot using AC adapter; backlight setting too low.Ensure the main unit is powered by the AC adapter for continuous backlight. Adjust backlight brightness using the dedicated button.
