The EL417CT5 is designed for easy retrofit installation into existing 4-inch recessed housings or for new construction with compatible ELCO housings.
- Turn Off Power: Before starting, ensure the power supply to the fixture location is turned off at the circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Prepare Housing: If retrofitting an existing housing, remove the old trim and bulb. Ensure the housing is clean and free of debris.
- Select Color Temperature (CCT): Locate the manual switch on the driver unit of the EL417CT5. Select your desired color temperature (2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K, or 5000K) before proceeding with the electrical connection. This setting cannot be changed easily after installation.
- Connect Wiring:
- For Retrofit (E26 Base): Screw the provided Medium Base Adapter (PSA30) into the existing E26 socket in the recessed housing. Connect the quick connector from the EL417CT5 trim to the adapter.
- For New Construction/Compatible Housings: Connect the quick connector from the EL417CT5 trim directly to the quick connect receptacle in the compatible ELCO housing.
- Insert Trim: Gently push the EL417CT5 trim into the recessed housing until the springs securely hold it in place, flush with the ceiling.
- Restore Power: Turn the power back on at the circuit breaker.

- Dimming: This fixture is compatible with most Triac/ELV dimmers, allowing smooth dimming down to 10% of its full brightness. Ensure your dimmer switch is compatible with LED lighting.
