3. Setup
3.1 Initial Charging
Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the mouse. Connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the mouse's charging port and the other end to a USB power source (e.g., computer USB port, USB wall adapter).

The charging indicator light will show the charging status. A full charge typically lasts up to 1 month of use.
3.2 Power On/Off
Locate the power switch on the bottom of the mouse. Slide it to the "ON" position to power on the mouse, and to "OFF" to power it off.

3.3 Connecting to Devices
The ProtoArc EM04 supports three connection modes: 2.4G Wireless, Bluetooth 1 (BT1), and Bluetooth 2 (BT2). You can switch between these modes using the mode button on the bottom of the mouse.

3.3.1 2.4G Wireless Connection
- Take out the USB receiver from the mouse's storage compartment (located on the bottom).
- Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
- Slide the mode switch on the bottom of the mouse to the "2.4G" position (indicated by '1' or '2.4G' on the switch). The mouse should connect automatically.
3.3.2 Bluetooth Connection (BT1 / BT2)
- Slide the mode switch on the bottom of the mouse to either "BT1" or "BT2" position.
- Press and hold the mode switch button for 3-5 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly, indicating pairing mode.
- On your device (PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
- Select "ProtoArc EM04" from the list of available devices to pair.
- Once paired, the indicator light on the mouse will stop flashing.
You can connect two different Bluetooth devices using BT1 and BT2 modes.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Thumb Trackball Operation
The ProtoArc EM04 features a thumb-controlled trackball. Use your thumb to move the trackball to control the cursor on your screen. This design minimizes wrist movement and provides comfort, especially in confined spaces.

4.2 DPI Adjustment
The mouse offers 5 adjustable DPI (Dots Per Inch) levels: 200, 400, 800, 1200, and 1600 DPI. You can change the cursor sensitivity to suit your preference and task requirements.
To adjust DPI, press the DPI button located near the scroll wheel. Each press cycles through the available DPI settings. The indicator light may briefly change to confirm the DPI level change.

4.3 Forward/Back Buttons
The mouse includes dedicated forward and back buttons for convenient web browsing and navigation. These buttons are located on the side of the mouse, accessible by your thumb.
Note: These buttons are non-programmable and are not compatible with Mac OS systems.
4.4 Power Saving Mode
To conserve battery life, the mouse will automatically enter a sleep mode if not used for a few minutes. To wake the mouse, simply click any button, and it will resume normal operation.
5. Maintenance
5.1 Cleaning the Trackball
Over time, dust and debris may accumulate around the trackball, affecting its smooth operation. To clean the trackball:
- Gently push the trackball from the bottom of the mouse to pop it out.
- Use a clean, lint-free cloth or a cotton swab lightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to wipe the trackball and the inside of its socket.
- Ensure all surfaces are dry before reinserting the trackball.
- Carefully place the trackball back into its socket until it clicks into place.
5.2 Battery Care and Charging
The ProtoArc EM04 has a built-in rechargeable lithium battery. To maximize battery lifespan:
- Charge the mouse using the provided Type-C cable.
- Avoid fully discharging the battery frequently.
- If not using the mouse for an extended period, turn it off using the power switch.
- Store the mouse in a cool, dry place.
