1. Product Overview

The Sortfle Smart Tuya WiFi Blinds Motor (Model AM25-MEL-WIFI) is designed to motorize existing blinds and shades, offering smart control capabilities. This plug-in motor operates on AC100-240V, making it suitable for global use. It integrates seamlessly with smart home ecosystems like Alexa and Google Home via the Tuya Smart App, requiring no additional hub.

2. Setup

2.1 Unboxing and Component Check

Carefully unbox your Sortfle Smart Blinds Motor kit and ensure all components are present. The package typically includes the Smart WiFi Blinds Motor, mounting screws, instructions, and a remote control.

2.2 Motor Installation

Before installation, measure your shade's tube diameter to ensure compatibility with the 1.5"/38mm motor. The motor is designed for easy DIY installation without complex wiring.

1. Remove your existing roller shade from its brackets.
2. Disassemble the roller blind, remove the manual pull cord and drive mechanism.
3. Insert the Smart WiFi Blinds Motor into the shade tube. Ensure the charging port is facing upwards for easy access.
4. Secure the brackets and re-install the shade.

2.3 Remote Control Pairing & Limit Setting

After physical installation, pair the remote control with the motor and set the upper and lower travel limits for your shade.

1. Remote Pairing: Press the program button on the motor once. The motor will jog. Then press the UP button on the remote control. The motor will jog again, indicating successful pairing.
2. First Limit Setting (Upper): Use the remote's UP button to move the shade to your desired uppermost position. Press the STOP button. Then press the program button on the remote once to save the upper limit.
3. Second Limit Setting (Lower): Use the remote's DOWN button to move the shade to your desired lowermost position. Press the STOP button. Then press the program button on the remote once to save the lower limit.

2.4 App Settings & WiFi Connection

Connect your motor to the Tuya Smart App for advanced control and scheduling. The motor requires a 2.4GHz WiFi network (5GHz is not supported).

1. Download and open the Tuya Smart App.
2. Ensure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz WiFi network.
3. Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. The app will guide you through connecting the motor to your WiFi network.

3. Operating the Blinds Motor

3.1 Remote Control

Use the included 1-channel RF 433MHz remote control for basic operation. The remote offers a long-distance range and stability, penetrating through walls.

• UP Button: Raises the shade.
• DOWN Button: Lowers the shade.
• STOP Button: Stops the shade at its current position.

3.2 App Control (Tuya Smart App)

The Tuya Smart App provides comprehensive control over your blinds, allowing you to adjust shades remotely, create schedules, and group multiple motors.

• Remote Operation: Control shades from anywhere using your smartphone.
• Scheduling: Set custom schedules for opening and closing your blinds (e.g., open at sunrise, close at sunset).
• Group Control: Group multiple motors to control several shades simultaneously.
• Siri Shortcuts: Create custom Siri shortcuts for voice control directly from your iPhone.

3.3 Voice Control (Alexa & Google Home)

Integrate your blinds motor with Amazon Alexa or Google Home for hands-free voice control.

• Alexa Commands: "Alexa, open the blinds," "Alexa, close the blinds," "Alexa, set blinds to 50%."
• Google Home Commands: Similar voice commands can be used with Google Assistant.

4. Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and longevity of your Sortfle Smart Blinds Motor, regular maintenance is recommended.

• Cleaning: Periodically wipe the motor and shade components with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
• Connection Check: Ensure the power cable is securely connected and the motor is receiving power.
• Battery (Remote): The remote control requires 1 CR2032 battery (included). Replace the battery when the remote's performance degrades.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your blinds motor, refer to the following common troubleshooting steps:

• Motor Not Responding: Check if the motor is powered. Ensure the remote control is paired correctly. If using app control, verify WiFi connection.
• WiFi Connection Issues: Confirm your router is broadcasting a 2.4GHz signal. The motor does not support 5GHz WiFi. Ensure the motor is within range of your WiFi router.
• Incorrect Limit Settings: Re-perform the limit setting procedure as described in Section 2.3.
• Motor, Bracket, or Crown Mismatch: Ensure all components are compatible with your shade tube. Refer to the product specifications for correct dimensions.
