5. Setup
5.1 Battery Installation
- Open the battery compartment cover on the back of the device.
- Insert three 1.5V AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
5.2 Probe Connection
The TC604 supports up to four thermocouple probes. Each probe connects to a dedicated channel input port at the top of the device.
- Identify the K, T, or J type thermocouple probes. The included probes are K-type.
- Carefully insert the thermocouple connector into the desired channel port (CH1, CH2, CH3, CH4) on the top of the device. Ensure a firm connection.
5.3 Power On/Off
- To Power On: Press and hold the ON/OFF/Backlight Key (red button) until the display illuminates.
- To Power Off: Press and hold the ON/OFF/Backlight Key until the display turns off. The device also features an adjustable auto-off function to conserve battery power.
The device can be powered by the installed AA batteries or via the Type-C USB cable connected to a computer or USB power adapter.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Measurement
Once powered on and probes are connected, the device will immediately display real-time temperature readings for each active channel on the LCD screen.
6.2 Unit Switching (℃/℉/K)
Press the ℃/℉/K Key to cycle through Celsius (℃), Fahrenheit (℉), and Kelvin (K) temperature units.
6.3 Data Logging
The TC604 can record up to 49,920 groups of data. The log sample rate interval is adjustable from 1 to 65,535 seconds.
- To Start Logging: Refer to the device's menu for logging options. Typically, a dedicated button or menu navigation is used to initiate data recording.
- To Stop Logging: Navigate through the menu or press the designated button to stop data recording.
- Setting Log Interval: Access the parameter settings menu to adjust the desired logging interval.
6.4 Alarm Settings
The device features a buzzer alarm that provides an immediate sound alert when temperature thresholds are exceeded.

Image 6.1: The Tzone TC604 indicating an active temperature alarm with a visual alert on the screen and an accompanying beeper icon, signifying that a set temperature threshold has been crossed.
- Setting Alarm Thresholds: Access the parameter settings menu to set upper and lower temperature limits for each channel.
- When the temperature on any channel goes above the upper limit or below the lower limit, the buzzer will sound.
6.5 Calibration
The TC604 supports calibration. Refer to the parameter settings menu for calibration options. For precise calibration, it is recommended to use a known temperature reference.
6.6 Data Export
Connect the TC604 to a computer using the provided Type-C USB cable. The device will automatically generate temperature data reports in TXT, CSV, XLS, or PDF file formats. No additional software is required.

Image 6.2: The Tzone TC604 connected to a laptop, demonstrating its 'Plug and Play' functionality for data export. The screen shows temperature readings, while the laptop displays generated data reports in XLS, CSV, and PDF formats, indicating no software is required for this process.
6.7 MAX/MIN/AVG Display
Press the MAX/MIN/AVG Key to cycle through the maximum, minimum, and average temperature values recorded for the active channels.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Cleaning
Wipe the device with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the device is powered off and disconnected from any power source before cleaning.
7.2 Storage
When not in use for extended periods, remove the batteries to prevent leakage. Store the device in its carrying case in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures (-20℃ to 60℃ without battery).
7.3 Battery Replacement
Replace the AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears on the display or when the device fails to power on. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 5.1.
8. Troubleshooting
- Device does not power on: Check battery installation and ensure batteries are not depleted. Try powering via USB cable.
- Inaccurate readings: Ensure probes are correctly connected and are the appropriate type (K, T, or J) for the measurement. Consider performing a calibration.
- No temperature displayed for a channel: Verify the probe is securely connected to the correct channel. Check for damage to the probe cable or connector.
- Inconsistent logging rate: While the device is advertised to log at 1-second intervals, some users have reported inconsistent logging rates (e.g., 5-second resolution). Ensure the firmware is up to date. Contact Tzone support for firmware updates if available.
- Probes not suitable for high temperatures: The included K-type probes are rated for 0℃ to 300℃. For applications exceeding this range (up to 1372℃ for K-type), use specialized high-temperature thermocouple probes with appropriate insulation.
- Data export issues: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the device and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable.
