1. Introduction

Thank you for choosing the VOOPEAK TC24 Trail Camera. This camera is designed for capturing high-quality photos and videos of wildlife or for surveillance purposes. It features 4K video recording, 48MP photo resolution, a 120° wide-angle lens, and a rapid 0.1-second trigger speed. Its IP66 waterproof rating ensures reliable performance in various outdoor conditions.

3. Camera Features

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Open the camera casing latches.
  2. Locate the battery compartments. The camera requires 8 AA batteries (not included).
  3. Insert the batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartments securely.

Note: For optimal performance and longevity, use high-quality alkaline or rechargeable AA batteries. The camera can operate with 4 batteries, but 8 are recommended for extended use.

4.2 SD Card Installation

  1. Ensure the camera is powered off.
  2. Locate the SD card slot.
  3. Insert an SD card (up to 32GB, not included) into the slot until it clicks into place.
  4. It is highly recommended to format the SD card before first use. Format it on a computer first, then format it again using the camera's menu.

Important: An SD card is essential for saving photos and videos. The camera will not function without one.

4.3 Mounting the Camera

The VOOPEAK TC24 offers flexible mounting options:

  • Using the Mounting Belt: Thread the provided belt through the slots on the back of the camera and secure it around a tree or pole.
  • Using the Tree Mount/Metal Base: Attach the metal base to a tree or wall using the provided screws and expansion tubes. Then, attach the camera to the mount.

Position the camera to ensure a clear view of the desired area, considering the 120° wide-angle lens and PIR detection range.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Powering On and Basic Settings

  1. After installing batteries and an SD card, switch the camera to the "ON" position.
  2. The internal screen will activate, allowing you to navigate the menu using the control buttons.
  3. Set the date, time, and language (French is available).
  4. Adjust photo/video resolution, PIR sensitivity, and operating mode (Photo, Video, Photo+Video, Time-Lapse).

5.2 Recording Modes

  • Photo Mode: Captures still images when motion is detected.
  • Video Mode: Records video clips when motion is detected.
  • Photo + Video Mode: Takes a set number of photos, then records a video clip upon motion detection. Note that this sequence might cause a slight delay in video capture after photos.
  • Time-Lapse Mode: Captures photos or videos at predefined intervals, regardless of motion.

5.3 Field of View and Motion Detection

The VOOPEAK TC24 features a 120° wide-angle lens, providing an expansive field of view to capture more of the surrounding area. Coupled with Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors, the camera detects movement up to 25 meters during the day and 20 meters at night. Upon detection, the camera triggers within 0.1 seconds to ensure no moment is missed.

5.4 Night Vision

The VOOPEAK TC24 is equipped with 2 infrared LEDs that provide clear black and white images and videos in low-light or complete darkness, with a night vision range of up to 20 meters. These LEDs are not visible to the human eye, ensuring discreet operation.

5.5 Viewing and Transferring Files

  • On Camera: Use the internal screen to review captured photos and videos directly.
  • Via USB: Connect the camera to a computer using the provided USB cable to transfer files.
  • SD Card Reader: Remove the SD card and insert it into a computer's card reader for faster file access.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera lens and casing. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Battery Replacement: Replace all 8 AA batteries when the low battery indicator appears or when performance degrades.
  • SD Card Management: Regularly back up important files and format the SD card to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, remove batteries and store the camera in a cool, dry place.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Camera Not Turning On

  • Ensure batteries are inserted correctly with proper polarity.
  • Check if batteries are fully charged or replace them with new ones.
  • Verify the power switch is in the "ON" position.

7.2 Poor Image/Video Quality

  • Clean the camera lens.
  • Ensure the camera is set to the desired resolution (4K for video, 48MP for photos).
  • Check for sufficient lighting conditions. Night vision will produce black and white images.
  • While the camera supports 4K, actual perceived quality can vary based on environmental factors and playback device.

7.3 Motion Not Detected or Missed Shots

  • Adjust PIR sensor sensitivity in the camera settings.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions in front of the PIR sensors.
  • Position the camera to cover the desired detection area effectively, considering the 120° field of view.
  • In Photo + Video mode, the initial photos might cause a slight delay before video recording begins.

7.4 Excessive Battery Consumption

  • Ensure all 8 AA batteries are used for maximum lifespan.
  • Reduce the frequency of captures or video length in settings.
  • Use high-quality alkaline or rechargeable batteries.
  • Extreme temperatures can affect battery performance.

7.5 SD Card Errors

  • Ensure the SD card is properly inserted.
  • Format the SD card using the camera's menu.
  • Try a different SD card (up to 32GB, Class 10 recommended).
  • Ensure the SD card is not locked (write-protected).
