1. Introduction

The PUQU AQ20 Bluetooth Thermal Printer is a versatile and portable label maker designed for efficient organization in home, office, and storage environments. This ink-free device connects wirelessly via Bluetooth to your iOS or Android smartphone, allowing you to create and print a wide variety of labels. With access to over 1000 icons and 200 free templates through the dedicated 'Qu Printing' app, it simplifies the process of generating professional-looking labels for pricing, pantry items, barcodes, jewelry, and more.

2. Setup Guide

2.1 Package Contents

Before you begin, ensure all components are present:

  • PUQU AQ20 Thermal Printer
  • USB Type-C Charging Cable
  • One roll of labels (included)
  • User Manual (this document)

2.2 Charging the Printer

The printer comes with a built-in 1800mAh Lithium-Ion battery. For optimal performance, fully charge the device before first use.

  1. Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the printer's charging port.
  2. Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or a computer USB port.
  3. The LED indicator on the printer will show charging status. It will typically turn solid when fully charged.

A full charge provides approximately 4-5 hours of continuous work time.

2.3 Loading Labels

The PUQU AQ20 printer uses thermal labels. Ensure you use labels compatible with the printer's adjustable holder, which fits widths from 20mm to 50mm (0.75" to 1.96").

  1. Press the blue switch on the side of the printer to open the top cover.
  2. Insert the label roll into the compartment, ensuring the labels feed out from the top and the print side is facing upwards.
  3. Pull a small length of label paper out past the print head.
  4. Close the top cover firmly until it clicks into place.

2.4 App Installation and Bluetooth Connection

The 'Qu Printing' app is essential for operating your PUQU AQ20 printer. It is available for both iOS and Android devices.

  1. Download the App: Search for "Qu Printing" in the Apple App Store (for iOS) or Google Play Store (for Android) and install it.
  2. Enable Bluetooth: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your smartphone.
  3. Power On Printer: Turn on your PUQU AQ20 printer.
  4. Connect via App: Open the "Qu Printing" app. Important: Connect the printer via the app's internal Bluetooth connection feature, not directly through your phone's system Bluetooth settings.
  5. Within the app, navigate to the device connection section (often indicated by a Bluetooth icon or "Connect Device"). Select "AQ20" from the list of available devices.

3. Operation

3.1 Creating Labels

The 'Qu Printing' app offers extensive features for label creation:

  • Templates: Access over 200 free templates and 1000+ icons for various uses (e.g., food, clothing, jewelry, cables, addresses). Navigate to "My Labels" -> "Official" within the app to browse categories.
  • Custom Design: Create labels from scratch using text, barcodes, QR codes, tables, images, lines, and more. The app supports 60+ frames and 30+ fonts.
  • Batch Printing: Utilize Excel batch printing for multiple labels.

3.2 Printing Labels

Once your label design is complete in the app:

  1. Ensure the printer is powered on and connected via Bluetooth to the app.
  2. In the app, click the "Print" button or icon.
  3. Adjust print settings such as copies, pagination, and orientation if needed.
  4. Click "Start Printing" to send the label to the printer.

The printer will automatically feed and print the label. Tear off the label along the serrated edge.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning the Printer

Regular cleaning ensures optimal print quality and extends the life of your printer.

  • Turn off the printer and disconnect it from any power source before cleaning.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with isopropyl alcohol to gently wipe the print head. Avoid touching the print head directly with your fingers.
  • Clean the exterior of the printer with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.

4.2 Label Storage

Store thermal labels in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and heat to prevent premature fading or damage to the thermal coating.

5. Troubleshooting

This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your PUQU AQ20 printer.
