5. Setup Guide
Follow these steps to set up your Ugoos X4Q Extra TV Box for the first time.
- Connect to Power: Insert the Type-C end of the power adapter into the DC 5V port on the TV Box and plug the other end into a power outlet.
- Connect to TV: Connect one end of the included HD Cable to the HDMI port on the TV Box and the other end to an available HDMI input on your television.
- Network Connection (Optional):
- Wired: Connect an Ethernet cable from your router to the LAN port on the TV Box.
- Wireless: During initial setup, you will be prompted to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Select your network and enter the password.
- Insert TF Card (Optional): If you wish to expand storage, insert a TF (MicroSD) card into the TF CARD slot until it clicks into place.
- Power On: The device should power on automatically. If not, press the power button on the remote control or the device.
- Initial Setup Wizard: Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the initial setup, including language selection, network configuration, and Google account login.
6. Operating Instructions
This section provides guidance on using your Ugoos X4Q Extra TV Box.
6.1 Remote Control Pairing
The included Bluetooth remote control needs to be paired with the TV Box for full functionality, especially for voice search.

- Hold down the Volume Down (
) and Volume Up (
) buttons simultaneously on the remote. The red light will flash slowly after 3 seconds, and the remote will enter standby mode. - On your TV Box, navigate to the Bluetooth search function (usually in Settings > Connected devices > Pair new device).
- Select the Ugoos remote name from the list and confirm the pairing request. The red light on the remote will turn off once pairing is successful.
6.2 Remote Control Button IR Setting
The learning function on this remote control supports infrared (IR) signals only. This function is available only for the Right "Power" button.
- After the Ugoos remote control powers on, press and hold the "Power" button for about 3 seconds. Release the finger after the red light keeps on, and then it enters learning status.
- Hold the remote control to be learned, point it at this remote control with a distance of about 3-5 cm, then press the needed button to be learned.
- After the learning is successful, the red light flashes twice and then goes out to indicate success. Note that the Ugoos remote will automatically exit learning state after about 10 seconds.
6.3 Language & Input
To change the system language or input method:
- Go to Settings.
- Select Preferences or System.
- Choose Language & Input to select your desired language and configure keyboard settings.
6.4 Applications
The Ugoos X4Q Extra supports Google Play Store for downloading and installing a wide range of applications. You can also install APK files directly.
- Google Play Store: Access the Play Store from the home screen to browse and install apps.
- APK Installation: Download APK files from trusted sources to a USB drive or TF card, then use a file manager app on the TV Box to install them.
6.5 4K HDR and AV1 Playback
The X4Q Extra is designed to deliver a superior visual experience with support for 4K HDR and AV1 encoded content.

- Ensure your television supports 4K and HDR for optimal viewing.
- The device automatically detects and processes 4K 60fps, H.265, and AV1 videos for smooth playback.
- AV1 encoding provides efficient compression, allowing for high-quality video with less data usage.

- No Power:

- No Picture on TV:
- Check the HDMI cable connection between the TV Box and your TV.

- Remote Control Not Responding:
- Check if the CR2 battery in the remote is correctly inserted and has sufficient charge.

- Wi-Fi Connectivity Issues:
