1. Product Overview

The Google Nest Mini 2nd Generation is a smart speaker designed to integrate seamlessly into your home environment. 2. What's in the Box

Your Google Nest Mini 2nd Generation package includes the following items:

3. Setup

  1. Power On: Connect the Universal Power Adapter to the Google Nest Mini and plug it into a wall outlet. The device will power on automatically.

  2. Download Google Home App: On your smartphone or tablet, download and install the Google Home app from your device's app store.
  3. Initial Setup: Open the Google Home app and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your new Nest Mini. The app will guide you through connecting the device to your Wi-Fi network and linking it to your Google account.

    Note: Some units may initially speak in a different language (e.g., Japanese) upon first boot-up, especially if sourced internationally. The language will automatically adjust to English once paired with the Google Home app and connected to your home network.

  4. Voice Match (Optional): For a personalized experience, set up Voice Match in the Google Home app. This allows the Nest Mini to recognize your voice and provide tailored information.

4. Operating Your Google Nest Mini

Voice Commands:

To activate the Google Assistant, simply say "Hey Google" or "Ok Google" followed by your command or question. The LED lights on top of the device will illuminate to indicate it is listening.

  • Music Playback: "Hey Google, play some jazz music." "Ok Google, play my workout playlist on Spotify."
  • Information: "Hey Google, what's the weather like today?" "Ok Google, tell me the latest news."
  • Timers & Alarms: "Hey Google, set a timer for 10 minutes." "Ok Google, set an alarm for 7 AM."
  • Smart Home Control: "Hey Google, dim the living room lights." "Ok Google, turn on the thermostat." (Requires compatible smart devices linked in the Google Home app).

Touch Controls:

The Google Nest Mini features touch-sensitive areas for quick adjustments:

  • Volume Up: Tap the right side of the device.
  • Volume Down: Tap the left side of the device.
  • Play/Pause: Tap the center of the device.
  • Microphone Mute: Use the physical switch on the side of the device to turn the microphone off for privacy. The LED lights will turn orange when muted.

5. Maintenance

  • Placement: Place the device on a stable, flat surface away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and excessive moisture. Avoid placing it in humid environments to prevent damage.
  • Power Cycle: If the device becomes unresponsive, unplug it from the power outlet for 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
  • Software Updates: Ensure your Google Nest Mini is connected to Wi-Fi to receive automatic software updates, which improve performance and add new features.
