2.3 Connecting Water Inlets and Outlet

The pump is equipped with four 1.1-inch I.D. water inlets, allowing connection to multiple pieces of equipment. These inlets come with dust covers. The 2/5-inch O.D. barbed outlet includes a built-in check valve to prevent water backflow. Connect the provided 20 ft tubing to the outlet and route it to a suitable drainage point.

2.4 Safety Switch Connection

The pump includes a safety switch function. Connect the provided safety switch wire to the designated metal joints on the side of the pump. This wire can be integrated into your HVAC system to automatically shut off the appliance in case of a potential overflow, preventing water damage. If you are unsure about connecting the safety switch, consult a professional.

3. Operating Instructions

The MSELTOS MD-TPS-20 condensate pump operates automatically, detecting water levels and initiating pumping as needed.

3.1 Automatic Drainage

The pump automatically detects the water level in its 0.6-gallon reservoir. When the water reaches a certain level, the pump activates to remove the condensate, preventing overflow. It will automatically stop once the water level drops.

3.2 Indicator Lights

The pump features three indicator lights on its panel to communicate its operational status:

  • Green Light (READY): Indicates that the pump is connected to power.
  • Yellow Light (PUMPING): Indicates that the pump is actively working and draining water.
  • Red Light (ALARM): Indicates a risk of overflow. An audible alarm will also sound simultaneously.

4. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the efficient operation and extends the lifespan of your condensate pump.

4.1 Reservoir Cleaning

The 0.6-gallon reservoir is made of specially treated plastic designed to resist dirt accumulation. However, periodic cleaning is recommended to prevent clogging and ensure proper function. Disconnect power before cleaning. Remove the top cover and clean the inside of the reservoir with mild soap and water. Rinse thoroughly.

4.2 Tubing Inspection

Periodically inspect the 20 ft drainage tubing for any kinks, blockages, or damage. Ensure the tubing remains clear to allow for unobstructed water flow.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your condensate pump, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Pump not running / No green lightNo power supplyCheck power connection and outlet. Ensure the power cord is securely plugged in.
Pump not draining water / Red alarm light on
  • Clogged inlet/outlet or tubing
