4.2 Mounting the Dash Camera
- Clean the windshield area where you intend to mount the camera.
- Attach the mounting bracket to the dash camera.
- Secure the mount to the windshield, ideally behind the rearview mirror, ensuring it does not obstruct your view.
- Adjust the camera lens to capture the road ahead clearly.
4.3 Connecting Power
- Connect the small end of the power cable to the USB power port on the dash camera.
- Plug the car charger end into your vehicle's 12V power outlet (cigarette lighter socket).
- Route the cable neatly along the windshield edge and dashboard to avoid interference with driving.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Power On/Off
- Automatic: The camera will automatically power on and begin recording when your vehicle's ignition is turned on (and power is supplied to the 12V outlet).
- Manual: Press and hold the Power Button for a few seconds to manually turn the camera on or off.
5.2 Recording Modes
- Loop Recording: The camera continuously records video in short segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the SD card is full, the oldest unlocked files are overwritten.
- Emergency Recording (G-Sensor): The built-in G-Sensor detects sudden impacts or rapid acceleration/deceleration. When triggered, the current video segment is automatically locked and saved to prevent it from being overwritten by loop recording.
- Manual Lock: During recording, press the OK button (or designated lock button) to manually lock the current video file.
5.3 Wi-Fi Connectivity and App Control
The A3 Dash Camera supports Wi-Fi connectivity, allowing you to connect your smartphone via a dedicated app (check the CD or product packaging for app details). This enables:
- Live view streaming on your phone.
- Downloading recorded videos directly to your phone.
- Adjusting camera settings remotely.
5.4 Parking Guard/Monitor
When enabled, the Parking Guard feature allows the dash camera to monitor your vehicle even when parked. If an impact is detected (e.g., a hit-and-run), the camera will automatically power on and record a short video, then power off again. This feature typically requires a continuous power supply or a hardwire kit (sold separately).
6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
- Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the camera body.
- For the lens, use a specialized lens cleaning cloth and solution to avoid scratches.
- Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
6.2 SD Card Management
- It is recommended to format the SD card regularly (e.g., once a month) to maintain optimal performance and prevent data corruption. This can usually be done through the camera's menu settings.
- Back up any important video files before formatting, as formatting will erase all data on the card.
7. Troubleshooting
- Camera not turning on:
Ensure the power cable is securely connected to both the camera and the car's 12V outlet. Check if the car's 12V outlet is functioning. Try a different power source if available.
- Recording stops unexpectedly:
The SD card may be full or corrupted. Format the SD card (after backing up important files) or replace it with a new one. Ensure the SD card is a high-speed Class 10 or higher.
- Video footage is blurry:
Clean the camera lens. Ensure the protective film (if any) has been removed from the lens. Check if the camera is securely mounted and not vibrating excessively.
- G-Sensor is too sensitive/not sensitive enough:
Adjust the G-Sensor sensitivity setting in the camera's menu. Lower sensitivity for fewer false triggers, higher for more detection.
- Wi-Fi connection issues:
Ensure the Wi-Fi function is enabled on the camera. Restart both the camera and your smartphone. Make sure you are within close proximity to the camera.
