Setup Instructions
1. Rockville RCM PRO Microphone Setup
- Attach Shock Mount: Secure the metal shock mount to a compatible microphone stand. Ensure it is tightened to prevent movement.
- Mount Microphone: Carefully insert the RCM PRO microphone into the shock mount. The microphone body is made of special zinc metal material to prevent noise from shock and vibrations.
- Connect XLR Cable: Connect one end of the provided XLR to XLR cable to the 3-pin XLR output on the bottom of the RCM PRO microphone.
- Connect to Audio Interface/Mixer: Connect the other end of the XLR cable to an audio interface, mixer, or preamplifier that provides 48V DC Phantom Power. The RCM PRO requires phantom power to operate.
- Attach Pop Filter: Position the large wind-screen/pop-filter in front of the microphone to reduce plosive sounds during recording.

Operating Instructions
Rockville RCM PRO Microphone Usage
- Polar Pattern: The RCM PRO features a cardioid polar pattern, which primarily picks up sound from the front of the microphone and rejects sounds from the sides and rear. This is ideal for isolating vocals or instruments in a noisy environment.
- Microphone Placement: For vocals, position the microphone 6-12 inches from the sound source. Experiment with distance and angle to achieve the desired tone.
- Gain Staging: Adjust the gain on your audio interface or mixer to achieve a strong signal without clipping (distortion). Monitor your levels carefully.
Rockville PRO-M50 Headphones Usage
- Monitoring: Use the PRO-M50 headphones for accurate monitoring during recording and mixing. Their 40mm Neodymium drivers and wide frequency range (10Hz-25kHz) provide precise sound reproduction.
- Comfort and Fit: Adjust the headband and earcups for a comfortable and secure fit. The closed-back design helps minimize sound bleed into the microphone during recording.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the microphone, headphones, and isolation shield. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials. For the microphone grille, a soft brush can be used to gently remove dust.
- Storage: When not in use, store the microphone and headphones in their protective cases (if applicable) or in a clean, dry environment away from extreme temperatures and humidity.
- Cable Care: Avoid sharp bends or kinks in the cables. Store them neatly coiled to prevent damage.
Troubleshooting
- No Sound from Microphone:
- Ensure 48V phantom power is enabled on your audio interface or mixer.
- Check all XLR cable connections for proper seating.
- Verify that the input gain on your audio interface/mixer is turned up.
- Test with a different XLR cable if possible.
- Distorted Audio from Microphone:
- Reduce the input gain on your audio interface/mixer to prevent clipping.
- Ensure the microphone is not too close to the sound source, causing overload.
- Check for damaged cables.
- Headphones Not Working:
- Ensure the detachable cable is securely connected to both the headphones and the audio source.
- Check the volume level on your audio source.
- Test the headphones with a different audio source or device.
- Verify that the correct output is selected on your audio interface/mixer.
