Jyving XG-07A Electric Cabinet Lock User Manual

Model: XG-07A

Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of the Jyving XG-07A Electric Cabinet Lock. This micro electric lock is designed for various applications including delivery lockers, refrigerated cabinets, mailboxes, self-service lockers, book counters, and changing clothes cabinets. It features a robust carbon steel construction and an independent operating mode.

Product Features

  • Durable Construction: Main body constructed from carbon steel with plated electrophoretic paint for enhanced durability and corrosion resistance (over 500 hours neutral frog experiment).
  • Security: Latch hook designed to withstand 150kg traction force without permanent deformation, offering shockproof and anti-prying capabilities.
  • Compact Design: Small footprint (approximately 53 x 40 x 13mm) for versatile installation.
  • Flexible Installation: No left, right, front, or reverse side limitations, allowing for mechanical lash-up unlocking positions.
  • Self-Elastic Design: Adjustable elasticity suitable for doors weighing 0.5~3kg.
  • Independent Work Mode: The lock is engaged (locked) when power is off and the door is closed. It disengages (unlocks) when power is applied.
  • Feedback Signal Line: Includes a short circuit signal switch that is disconnected when unlocked and connected when locked, providing status feedback.

Package Contents

The package includes the following items:

  • 1 x Jyving XG-07A Electric Lock (with detection switch)

Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance and security of the electric lock. Please follow these steps carefully.

1. Mounting the Lock Body

Identify the desired mounting location on your cabinet, locker, or drawer. Ensure the surface is flat and stable. The lock can be mounted in various orientations (no left, right, front, reverse side limitation).

Use appropriate screws (not included) to securely fasten the lock body to the chosen surface. Ensure the latch mechanism has a clear path to engage with the strike plate.

2. Installing the Strike Plate

Position the strike plate on the opposing surface (e.g., door frame or cabinet wall) so that it aligns perfectly with the lock's latch when the door is closed. Mark the screw holes and securely attach the strike plate.

3. Electrical Connection

Connect the lock's wiring harness to a DC 12V 2A power supply. Ensure correct polarity. The lock operates in an "independent type" mode:

  • Locked State: Power off and door closed.
  • Unlocked State: Power on.

The lock also includes a feedback signal line. This switch is disconnected when the lock is unlocked and connected when it is locked, providing status information to a control system if desired.

Caution: Ensure the power supply matches the lock's specifications (DC12V2A for this model) to prevent damage.

Operating Instructions

The Jyving XG-07A Electric Cabinet Lock operates based on its power state:

  1. To Lock: Ensure the door is fully closed. When the power supply to the lock is OFF, the latch will remain engaged, securing the door.
  2. To Unlock: Apply power (DC12V2A) to the lock. The electromagnet will retract the latch, allowing the door to open.

The lock is designed for quick response, with an electromagnet life exceeding 1,000,000 cycles under rated working conditions.

Manual Unlocking (Emergency)

In case of power failure or system malfunction, the lock features a manual unlocking mechanism.

To manually unlock the device, locate the small bar on the top of the lock body (as shown in Image 4) and press it down. This will retract the latch, allowing the door to be opened.

Maintenance

The Jyving XG-07A Electric Cabinet Lock is designed for low maintenance. However, periodic checks can ensure its longevity and reliable operation:

  • Cleaning: Keep the lock body and latch mechanism free from dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Inspection: Periodically inspect the mounting screws for tightness and the wiring for any signs of wear or damage.
  • Lubrication: The internal mechanism is generally self-lubricating. Avoid applying excessive lubricants, as this can attract dust and hinder operation. If necessary, a small amount of dry lubricant (e.g., graphite powder) can be applied to the moving parts.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your electric lock, refer to the following common problems and solutions:

  • Lock does not unlock when power is applied:
    • Check the power supply: Ensure it is providing the correct voltage (DC12V) and current (2A).
    • Verify wiring: Confirm that all electrical connections are secure and correctly polarized.
    • Inspect for obstructions: Check if any foreign objects are preventing the latch from retracting.
    • Test manual unlock: If the manual unlock mechanism works, the issue is likely electrical.
  • Lock does not engage (stay locked) when power is off:
    • Ensure the door is fully closed and aligned with the strike plate.
    • Check for physical damage to the latch or strike plate.
    • Verify that the power supply is indeed off when the lock should be engaged.
  • Feedback signal is incorrect:
    • Check the wiring of the feedback signal line for continuity and proper connection to your control system.
    • Ensure the lock is fully engaging or disengaging, as the switch activates based on the latch position.

If problems persist, contact customer support for further assistance.
