2. Safety Information

4. Setup
4.1 Initial Charging
Before first use, fully charge the guitar's internal Lithium Ion battery using the provided USB cable. Connect the USB-C end to the guitar's charging port and the USB-A end to a compatible USB power adapter (not included) or computer. The battery life is approximately 12 hours on a full charge.

4.2 GTRS App Installation and Connection
The GTRS S800 integrates with a dedicated mobile application for advanced features and effects. Download the 'GTRS App' from your device's app store (available for Android and Apple devices).
- Install the GTRS App on your smartphone or tablet.
- Turn on the GTRS guitar by rotating the Super-Knob clockwise.
- Open the GTRS App and follow the on-screen instructions to connect your guitar. This typically involves scanning a QR code located on the back of the guitar's headstock.
- Once connected, the app will display your guitar and its status.

4.3 Basic Controls
The guitar features standard controls for volume and tone, along with a multi-functional Super-Knob:
- Volume Knob: Adjusts the overall output volume.
- Tone Knob: Adjusts the tonal characteristics.
- Super-Knob: This knob controls the Intelligent Processor System. Rotate clockwise to turn on, anti-clockwise to turn off. Press the knob to switch presets. Rotate to adjust volume.
- Pickup Selector: A 5-way switch to select different pickup configurations (HHS setup).
4.4 Connecting to External Devices
The GTRS S800 can be connected to various external devices:
- Amplifier: Connect a standard 1/4-inch instrument cable from the guitar's output jack to your amplifier.
- Headphones: For silent practice, plug headphones directly into the guitar's output jack.
- Wireless Footswitch (Sold Separately): The GWF4 Wireless Footswitch can be paired for hands-free preset changes during performance.

5. Operation
5.1 Intelligent Processor System
The built-in Intelligent Processor System offers a wide range of digital effects and simulations:
- 9 classic guitar simulations
- 126 guitar effects
- 40 drum grooves
- 10 metronome variations
- 80-second looper
All these settings can be edited and managed through the GTRS App.

5.2 GTRS App Features
The GTRS App provides comprehensive control over your guitar's smart features:
- Tuner: Built-in digital tuner for accurate tuning.
- Drum: Access various drum grooves and metronome settings for practice.
- Chord: View chord diagrams and learn new voicings.
- Mixer: Customize and blend different effects and simulations.
- Looper: Record and loop up to 80 seconds of audio.
- Global Settings: Adjust overall guitar parameters.
- Standby Mode: Manage power saving options.
- Rename: Personalize your guitar's name in the app.

5.3 Downloading and Managing Effects
The GTRS App allows you to explore and download a vast library of effects from both the 'User Zone' (community-created presets) and 'Official Zone' (GTRS factory presets).
- Navigate to the 'Cloud' section within the app.
- Browse effects by categories such as Clean, Low Gain, or High Gain.
- Select an effect to preview its sound (if available) or view its detailed settings.
- To download an effect, tap the download icon. You can then save it to a specific slot on your guitar for quick access.
5.4 Silent Practice
Utilize the direct headphone output for quiet practice sessions without disturbing others. This feature allows you to enjoy the full range of effects and simulations privately.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning
- Wipe the guitar body and neck with a soft, dry cloth after each use to remove sweat and fingerprints.
- For glossy finishes, use a guitar-specific polish sparingly.
- Clean the fretboard with a suitable fretboard conditioner periodically to prevent drying and cracking.
6.2 String Replacement
Replace strings regularly to maintain optimal tone and playability. Refer to standard electric guitar string replacement procedures. Ensure proper string gauge for the tremolo system.
6.3 Storage
Store the guitar in its gig bag or a hard case when not in use to protect it from dust, impacts, and environmental changes. Avoid storing in areas with extreme temperature fluctuations or high humidity.
7. Troubleshooting
- No Sound: Check volume knobs on the guitar and amplifier. Ensure the guitar is charged and turned on. Verify cable connections.
- App Connection Issues: Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your device and the guitar. Re-scan the QR code if necessary. Restart both the app and the guitar.
- Poor Tone/Distortion: Check effect settings in the GTRS App. Ensure pickups are clean and correctly adjusted.
- Battery Not Charging: Verify the USB cable is securely connected. Try a different USB power source.
- System Malfunction: If the intelligent processor system is not functioning correctly, ensure the pickguard is not removed, as this may cause product failure.
