4. Installation

The iMaihom Floodlight Camera is designed for wired wall mounting. Ensure power is disconnected before beginning installation.

Installation Steps:

  1. Prepare the Mounting Location: Choose a suitable outdoor location with access to a wired power source. Ensure the mounting surface is sturdy.
  2. Disconnect Power: Turn off the power to the circuit at the breaker box before starting any electrical work.
  3. Mount the Bracket: Use the provided mounting bracket and hardware to securely attach the camera to the wall.
  4. Wire the Camera: Connect the camera's electrical wires to your home's wiring according to local electrical codes. Ensure proper grounding.
  5. Attach the Camera Unit: Secure the floodlight camera unit to the mounted bracket.

5. Smart Life App Setup

To control your iMaihom Floodlight Camera, download and configure the Smart Life app on your smartphone or tablet.

Connecting to the App:

  1. Download Smart Life App: Search for "Smart Life" in your device's app store (iOS or Android) and install it.
  2. Register/Log In: Open the app and register a new account or log in with an existing one.
  3. Power On Camera: Ensure the camera is powered on and the blue indicator light is flashing rapidly (if not, reset the camera by pressing the reset button for 5 seconds until you hear a beep).
  4. Add Device: In the Smart Life app, tap the "+" icon or "Add Device" and select "Security Camera" or "Floodlight Camera" from the device list.
  5. Connect to Wi-Fi: Enter your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network name and password. Ensure your phone is connected to the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  6. Scan QR Code: The app will generate a QR code. Hold your phone with the QR code in front of the camera lens (15-20 cm away) until you hear a prompt indicating successful scanning.
  7. Connection Confirmation: The camera will connect to the network. Once connected, you will hear a confirmation prompt, and the device will appear in your app.

6. Operating Instructions

Once connected, you can access various features through the Smart Life app.

6.1. Live View and Pan/Tilt Control

  • Access the live feed from your camera anytime, anywhere.
  • Use the on-screen controls to pan (340° horizontal) and tilt (120° vertical) the camera lens for a 360° panoramic view.

6.2. Motion Detection and Tracking

  • Enable motion detection to receive real-time alerts on your phone when movement is detected.
  • Activate motion tracking for the camera to automatically follow moving objects within its field of view.
  • Adjust motion sensitivity in the app settings to minimize false alarms.

6.3. Night Vision

Connecting to Alexa/Google Assistant:

  1. Ensure Compatibility: Verify your Alexa or Google Assistant device, phone, and floodlight camera are on the same 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  2. Smart Life Skill/Action: Open the Amazon Alexa app or Google Home app.
  3. Enable Skill/Action: Search for and enable the "Smart Life" skill (for Alexa) or action (for Google Assistant).
  4. Link Accounts: Follow the on-screen prompts to link your Smart Life account with your Alexa or Google account.
  5. Discover Devices: Once linked, ask Alexa to "Discover devices" or manually discover devices in the Google Home app. Your iMaihom Floodlight Camera should appear.

8. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe the camera lens and floodlight panels with a soft, damp cloth to remove dust and debris. Do not use harsh chemicals.
  • Firmware Updates: Check the Smart Life app periodically for firmware updates. Install updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Network Stability: Ensure a stable 2.4GHz Wi-Fi connection for uninterrupted operation.

9. Troubleshooting

  • Camera Offline: Check Wi-Fi connection, power supply, and ensure the camera is within Wi-Fi range. Restart the camera and router if necessary.
  • Failed to Connect to App: Ensure correct 2.4GHz Wi-Fi credentials, rapid flashing blue indicator light, and proper QR code scanning distance. Try resetting the camera.
  • Poor Image Quality: Clean the camera lens. Check network speed. Adjust video quality settings in the app (SD vs. HD).
  • Motion Detection Not Working: Ensure motion detection is enabled in the app and sensitivity is set appropriately. Check the detection zone settings.
