5. Setup

5.1 Charging the Keyboard

1. Locate the charging port on the keyboard.

3. Connect the other end of the USB cable to a powered USB port (e.g., computer, wall adapter).
4. The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.

A full charge provides up to 30 days of usage or 6 months of standby time when powered off.

5.2 Powering On/Off

• To power on, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'ON' position. The power indicator light will briefly illuminate.
• To power off, slide the ON/OFF switch to the 'OFF' position.

5.3 Bluetooth Pairing

1. Ensure the keyboard is charged and powered on.
2. Press the Connect button on the keyboard. The Bluetooth indicator light will begin to flash, indicating it is in pairing mode.
3. On your device (e.g., TCL 40 XL), navigate to the Bluetooth settings.

6. If prompted, enter the pairing code displayed on your device using the SlimKeys keyboard and press Enter.
7. Once paired, the Bluetooth indicator light on the keyboard will stop flashing and remain solid or turn off, depending on the model.

5.4 Switching Operating Systems

The SlimKeys keyboard supports multiple operating systems. To optimize function keys for your device:

• For Android devices: Press Fn + Android key.
• For Windows devices: Press Fn + Windows key.
• For iOS devices (iPhone/iPad): Press Fn + iOS key.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Basic Typing

Once paired, the keyboard functions like a standard QWERTY keyboard. Simply open any text input application on your device and begin typing.

8. Troubleshooting

8.1 Keyboard Not Powering On

• Ensure the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position.
• Charge the keyboard for at least 30 minutes. The battery may be depleted.

8.2 Unable to Pair Keyboard

• Ensure the keyboard is in pairing mode (Bluetooth indicator flashing). Press the Connect button if it's not flashing.
• Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on your device.
• Ensure the keyboard is within the effective range (typically 10 meters or 33 feet) of your device.
• Turn off and then turn on Bluetooth on your device, then try pairing again.
