Important Safety Instructions

Setup

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the panini press from its packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the non-stick cooking plates with a damp cloth or sponge. Ensure the drip tray is clean and properly inserted.
3. Placement: Place the appliance on a stable, heat-resistant, and dry surface. Ensure there is adequate ventilation around the unit.
4. Power Connection: Ensure the appliance is unplugged. Insert the removable drip tray into its designated slot at the back of the unit. Plug the power cord into a suitable 120V~60Hz electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

Preheating:

Close the panini press and plug it into a power outlet. The red power indicator light will illuminate. Allow the appliance to preheat for approximately 2 minutes until the green "Ready to Cook" indicator light turns on.

Cooking in Panini Press Mode:

1. Once preheated, carefully open the lid using the cool-touch handle.
2. Place your sandwich or food item onto the bottom grilling plate. The floating hinge will adjust to the thickness of your food.
3. Gently close the lid. Avoid applying excessive pressure, as the weight of the top plate is sufficient for even cooking.
4. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until desired crispness and internal temperature are reached. The green light may cycle on and off during cooking to maintain temperature.
5. Use a heat-resistant spatula to carefully remove the cooked food.

Cooking in 180° Open Grill Mode:

1. Ensure the appliance is preheated.
2. Locate the hinge release lever (red button) on the side of the unit.
3. Press the hinge release lever and gently push the top plate back until it lies flat, opening the grill to a 180° position.
4. Place food items (e.g., vegetables, meats, seafood) on both grilling surfaces.
5. Cook until desired doneness.
6. After cooking, allow the unit to cool slightly before returning it to the closed position.

Cleaning and Maintenance

1. Cool Down: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Remove Drip Tray: Carefully slide out the removable drip tray from the back of the unit. Empty any collected grease or food particles.
3. Clean Drip Tray: Wash the drip tray with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely before reinserting.
4. Clean Grilling Plates: Wipe the non-stick ceramic coated plates with a damp cloth or soft sponge. For stubborn residue, a small amount of mild dish soap can be used. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metal scouring pads to prevent damage to the non-stick coating.
5. Clean Exterior: Wipe the stainless steel surface and exterior with a soft, damp cloth.
6. Storage: Ensure all parts are clean and dry before storing. The compact design allows for upright storage to save space.

Troubleshooting

Common Issues:

• Appliance not heating: Ensure the power cord is securely plugged into a working electrical outlet. Check if the red power indicator light is on.
• Food sticking to plates: Ensure the plates are clean and properly preheated. While the plates are non-stick, a very light application of cooking oil or butter can be used if desired, especially for certain foods.
• Uneven cooking: Ensure the food item is placed centrally on the grilling surface. The floating hinge is designed to provide even pressure, but very unevenly shaped items might require repositioning.
• Excessive smoke: This can occur if there is accumulated grease or food residue on the plates. Ensure thorough cleaning after each use. If smoke persists, unplug the unit and allow it to cool before inspecting.
