4. Setup and Installation

Proper installation is crucial for the optimal performance of your INNOVV K5 dash cam. Due to the varied structures of motorcycles, specific mounting locations may differ. It is recommended to consult a professional if you are unsure about any steps.

4.1 Component Identification

  • Main Unit (DVR): The central processing unit where video files are stored.
  • Front Camera: Records 4K UHD video, typically mounted at the front of the motorcycle.
  • Rear Camera: Records 1080P video, typically mounted at the rear of the motorcycle.
  • GPS Module: Provides location and speed data for video overlays. Should be mounted with a clear view of the sky.
  • Remote Control: Allows for quick actions like saving footage and checking status indicators.
  • DC Converter: Manages power supply to the system.

4.2 Mounting the Cameras

Select secure locations for the front and rear cameras that provide an unobstructed view of the road. Use the provided brackets and screws for stable mounting. Ensure the cameras are oriented correctly for optimal recording.

4.3 Wiring

Connect the cameras, GPS module, and remote control to the main DVR unit. Route all cables securely, away from moving parts and heat sources. Connect the DC converter to your motorcycle's power supply, ensuring it is wired to a switched power source that activates with the ignition to enable automatic power on/off.

4.4 Initial Setup

After physical installation, download the INNOVV app to your smartphone. Connect to the dash cam's Wi-Fi network (details in section 5.2) to configure settings, format the microSD card, and verify camera angles via live preview.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Power On/Off

The INNOVV K5 is designed for automatic operation. Once properly wired to your motorcycle's ignition, the dash cam will automatically power on and begin recording when the motorcycle is started, and power off when the ignition is turned off.

5.2 Recording Modes

  • Loop Recording: The system continuously records video in short segments (e.g., 1, 3, or 5 minutes). When the memory card is full, the oldest unprotected files are overwritten.
  • Emergency Lock (G-Sensor): In the event of a sudden impact or collision, the built-in G-Sensor will automatically detect the event and lock the current video segment, preventing it from being overwritten.
  • 24-Hour Parking Mode: When the motorcycle is parked, the K5 will monitor for external forces or impacts. If detected, it will automatically record a 30-second protected video, providing surveillance even when the vehicle is off.

5.3 Using the Remote Control

The remote control provides convenient access to key functions:

  • Save Video: Press the main button to manually save the current recording segment, protecting it from loop recording overwrite.
  • Capture Photo: A quick press can also capture a still image.
  • Status Indicators: LEDs on the remote indicate the working status of recording, GPS, and Wi-Fi.

5.4 INNOVV App Connection and Usage

The INNOVV app (available on iOS and Android) allows you to manage your dash cam wirelessly:

  1. Download the App: Search for "INNOVV" in your device's app store.
  2. Connect to Wi-Fi: Turn on the dash cam. On your smartphone, go to Wi-Fi settings and connect to the INNOVV K5 network (SSID and password can be found in the app or on the device).
  3. Live Preview: View real-time footage from both cameras to adjust angles or monitor your surroundings.
  4. Video Playback & Download: Access recorded videos, play them back, and download important clips directly to your phone.
  5. Settings Adjustment: Modify recording resolution, loop recording duration, G-Sensor sensitivity, and other system settings.

  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the INNOVV website or app for available firmware updates to ensure your dash cam has the latest features and bug fixes. Follow the instructions provided with the update carefully.
  • MicroSD Card Maintenance: Regularly format the microSD card (at least once a month) using the INNOVV app or the dash cam's settings to prevent data corruption and ensure smooth recording. Use only high-quality, high-speed (U3/V30 or higher) microSD cards.
  • Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the dash cam in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
