7. Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with your Topping D70 Pro OCTO DAC, please refer to the following common problems and solutions. For more detailed troubleshooting, consult the official troubleshooting video.
7.1 Common Issues and Solutions
- Can't be turned on: Check power connection, rear panel power switch, try another power cable or outlet.
- No sound: Ensure proper input source is selected, check output settings, verify all connections, and confirm devices are not muted. For Bluetooth, adjust phone volume. For USB, check PC volume and driver settings.
- Noisy playback: Try different songs, ensure specifications are supported, adjust computer system volume for DSD files, check source/equipment/cables, consider a USB isolation device if noise disappears when unplugging USB.
- One channel with noise / no output: Check source, downstream equipment, and cables. Try swapping left and right channel connections.
- Channel imbalance: Set to C (Balance) in Setup Menu - Advance - Channel balance. Try swapping left and right channel connections.
- Cannot pair Bluetooth: Enable Bluetooth in setup menu. If already connected, press and hold headphone button on remote for pairing mode. Bring devices closer, remove obstructions, or try again.
- Bluetooth in: sound is cut off: Prevent electromagnetic interference by locating the unit away from microwave ovens, wireless LAN devices, etc. Reconnect Bluetooth device.
- Connected USB device does not recognize unit: Check USB cable connection, try another USB port, reinstall driver, or try with another PC. Some phones require OTG function to be enabled.
- Remote control not responding: Insert fresh AAA batteries, aim at remote receiver, bring remote closer. Use phone camera to check IR signal. If you have multiple Topping devices, ensure you are using the correct remote.
- Can't adjust unit's volume: If DAC mode is set, volume is fixed. Switch to PRE mode for adjustable volume.
- Sample rate displayed does not match music file: The unit displays the input signal's sample rate. For exclusive mode playback, the audio signal is not resampled. For non-exclusive mode, the computer/phone may resample the audio.
- DAC/DIR/PN voltage/5V voltage/FFT module abnormal: Disconnect other devices and reboot. If the problem persists, contact support.
- Firmware issues (damage, other firmware, unknown file, update failed, no firmware): Please re-flash the correct firmware.
