REVASRI Digital Brix Refractometer BM-04s User Manual

Model: BM-04s

1. Product Overview

The REVASRI Digital Brix Refractometer is a precision instrument designed for measuring the sugar content in various liquids. It features a wide measurement range of 0-55% Brix with high accuracy (±0.2%) and resolution (0.1%). Equipped with automatic temperature compensation (10°C to 40°C) and a high light-transmission prism, it ensures consistent and reliable readings. The device includes a high-definition LCD for clear, fast readings and is powered by a built-in 750mAh lithium battery, offering extended use on a single charge. Its waterproof sample tank allows for easy cleaning, making it an ideal tool for brewers, winemakers, food and beverage producers, and fruit growers.

3. Setup

3.1 Initial Charge

Before first use, ensure the refractometer is fully charged using the provided USB Type-C cable. The built-in 750mAh lithium battery provides approximately one month of use on a full charge.

3.2 Zero Calibration

Perform zero calibration before the first use and periodically to ensure accuracy. Use distilled water for calibration.

  1. Long press the power button to turn on the device.
  2. Clean the measurement slot thoroughly.
  3. Drop distilled water into at least 1/2 of the sample tank.
  4. Close the protection cover.
  5. Press the 'Zero' button. The display should show "Measurement 0.0%" when calibration is complete.
Step 1: Long press the instrument power button. Step 2: Drop the test sample into at least 1/2 of the sample tank.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Taking a Measurement

  1. Ensure the device is calibrated (see Section 3.2).
  2. Clean the sample tank thoroughly with a soft cloth.
  3. Using a dropper, place a few drops of the liquid sample into the measurement slot, filling it at least two-thirds full.
  4. Close the protection cover gently.
  5. Press the 'Measure' button. The Brix value will be displayed on the LCD screen within seconds.

4.2 Measurement Precautions

  • Avoid direct extrusion of fruit onto the prism; always use a prepared liquid sample.
  • Do not measure samples with temperatures below 10°C or above 40°C, as this may affect accuracy.
  • Always ensure the previous liquid sample is completely wiped clean from the prism before a new measurement.
  • For best results, mix the liquid sample thoroughly before testing.
Precautions for measurement: Avoid direct extrusion fruit measurement and testing objects below 10°C or above 40°C. Always wipe the last measured liquid clean and measure liquid after mixing.

5.2 Storage

Store the refractometer in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Ensure the sample tank is clean and dry before storage.

6. Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Inaccurate readingsImproper calibration; dirty prism; sample temperature outside range; insufficient sample volume.Perform zero calibration with distilled water; clean prism thoroughly; ensure sample temperature is between 10°C and 40°C; ensure sample tank is at least 1/2 full.
Device does not turn onLow battery.Charge the device using the USB Type-C cable.
Display shows "ERR3: sample quantity not enough" or "ERR2: sample over range"Insufficient sample volume or sample Brix value exceeds 55%.Ensure sample tank is at least 1/2 full. Note that this model measures up to 55% Brix; for higher concentrations, a different refractometer may be needed.
