1. Product Overview

The HOLOSUN HE403R-GD is a 20mm micro sight engineered for rifle and carbine applications. This sight features a robust rotary switch for reticle intensity selection, Holosun's Gold Super LED technology with an extended battery life, and a precise 2 MOA dot reticle. It is designed for versatility and reliable performance across various environments.

The sight's housing is constructed from durable cast aluminum, ensuring resilience. It includes both a lower 1/3 co-witness mount (1.63") and a low mount (0.75") to accommodate different rifle setups. Additional features include protective rubber lens covers and a battery compartment integrated into the rotary switch for convenient access to the CR2032 battery.

3. Setup and Installation

3.1 Mounting the Sight

The HE403R-GD comes with two mounts: a lower 1/3 co-witness mount (1.63") and a low mount (0.75"). Choose the appropriate mount based on your rifle's setup and desired sight height. The sight is designed for Picatinny rails.

1. Ensure your firearm is unloaded and safe before beginning installation.
2. Select the desired mount (high or low) and attach it securely to the sight using the provided screws.
3. Place the assembled sight onto your firearm's Picatinny rail.
4. Tighten the mounting screws evenly to secure the sight to the rail. Do not overtighten.

3.2 Battery Installation

The HE403R-GD uses a CR2032 battery, which is housed in a compartment integrated into the rotary switch.

1. Locate the battery cap on the side of the rotary switch.
2. Unscrew the battery cap counter-clockwise.
3. Insert a fresh CR2032 battery with the positive (+) side facing outwards.
4. Replace the battery cap and screw it clockwise until snug. Do not overtighten.

4. Operation

4.1 Power On/Off and Brightness Adjustment

The HE403R-GD features a rotary switch for power control and brightness adjustment.

• To power on the sight, rotate the switch clockwise from the "OFF" position.
• Continue rotating the switch clockwise to increase brightness. There are 12 brightness settings: 10 for daylight and 2 for night vision compatibility.
• To decrease brightness, rotate the switch counter-clockwise.
• To power off the sight, rotate the switch counter-clockwise to the "OFF" position.

4.2 Windage and Elevation Adjustment

Adjustments for windage and elevation are made using the turrets located on the top and side of the sight. Each click adjusts the point of impact by 0.5 MOA.

• Remove the protective caps from the windage (side) and elevation (top) adjustment turrets.
• The caps themselves can be used as a tool to turn the adjustment screws.
• Turn the adjustment screws as needed to zero the sight. The total adjustment range is ±50 MOA.
• Replace the protective caps after adjustment.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Optics

The multilayer reflective glass lenses require careful cleaning to maintain optimal clarity and performance.

• Use a soft, lint-free cloth or lens brush to gently remove dust and loose debris.
• For smudges or fingerprints, apply a small amount of lens cleaning solution to a microfiber cloth and gently wipe the lens surface.
• Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials, as these can damage the lens coatings.

5.2 Battery Replacement

Replace the CR2032 battery when the reticle appears dim or flickers, or if the sight fails to power on. Refer to section 3.2 for battery installation instructions.

6. Troubleshooting

• Reticle is not visible:
  • Check if the sight is powered on and the rotary switch is not in the "OFF" position.
  • Ensure the battery is correctly installed and has sufficient charge. Replace if necessary.
  • Adjust the brightness setting using the rotary switch.
• Reticle appears dim or flickers:
  • The battery may be low. Replace the CR2032 battery.
  • Ensure the battery cap is securely tightened.
• Inaccurate aiming:
  • Verify that the sight is securely mounted to the firearm's rail.
  • Perform a zeroing procedure using the windage and elevation adjustments.
