4. Setup
4.1 Battery Installation & Charging
The Merger LRF XL50 utilizes an APS 5 rechargeable battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.
- Insert the APS 5 battery into the designated compartment on the device. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
- To charge, connect the battery pack charger to the power adapter using the USB Type-C cable.
- Place the APS 5 battery into the charger. The indicator light on the charger will show charging status.
- A full charge typically provides up to 10 hours of operation.

4.2 Powering On/Off
To power on the device, press and hold the Power button (usually marked with a power symbol) until the display illuminates. To power off, press and hold the Power button again until the display shuts down.
4.3 Optical Adjustments
- Diopter Adjustment: Rotate the diopter adjustment rings on each eyepiece until the on-screen icons appear sharp and clear for your individual vision.
- Interpupillary Distance Adjustment: Adjust the distance between the two optical channels to match your eye spacing for comfortable viewing.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Basic Controls
The Merger LRF XL50 features intuitive button controls located on the top of the device. Familiarize yourself with the layout for easy operation in the field.
5.2 Magnification and Focusing
Use the zoom buttons to adjust the magnification from 2.5x to 20x. Rotate the objective lens focus ring to achieve a sharp image of your target at various distances.

5.3 Thermal Palettes
The device offers multiple color palettes to optimize viewing for different conditions and preferences. Cycle through the available palettes via the menu to find the best contrast for target identification.

5.4 Laser Rangefinder
Activate the built-in laser rangefinder to accurately measure distances to objects up to 1,000 yards. This feature is crucial for precise target assessment.

5.5 Wi-Fi and Stream Vision 2 App
Connect your Merger LRF XL50 to the Stream Vision 2 app on your smartphone or tablet via Wi-Fi. This enables remote control of the device, live streaming of thermal images, and firmware updates.
5.6 Recording
The device features a built-in recorder for capturing still images and video footage of your observations. Access recording functions through the device's menu or via the Stream Vision 2 app.
