Setup and Installation
Unpacking
Carefully remove all packaging materials, including the shipping bolts and base packaging. Ensure no parts are left inside the drum.
Location Requirements
Install the washer on a firm, level floor. Ensure there is adequate space for water supply hoses, drain hose, and power cord. Avoid direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
Connecting Water Hoses
Connect the hot and cold water supply hoses to the corresponding inlets on the back of the washer. Ensure connections are tight to prevent leaks. Connect the drain hose to a standpipe or laundry tub.
Power Connection
Plug the power cord into a properly grounded electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords.
SmartThings App Setup
For smart control features, download the Samsung SmartThings app on your smartphone. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your washer to your home Wi-Fi network and register the appliance.
Operating Instructions
Control Panel Overview
The control panel features a central dial for cycle selection and touch buttons for customizing wash settings. Indicators illuminate to show selected options and cycle progress.
Loading Laundry
Open the top lid and load clothes loosely into the drum. Do not overload the washer, as this can affect cleaning performance and cause imbalance. For best results, distribute items evenly around the agitator.
Adding Detergent and Softener
Your washer includes a single-compartment dispenser for detergent and softener. Pull out the dispenser drawer located at the front of the top panel. Add high-efficiency (HE) detergent to the detergent compartment and fabric softener to the softener compartment, ensuring not to exceed the 'MAX' fill line. Alternatively, detergent pods can be placed directly into the drum before adding laundry.
Selecting a Wash Cycle
Turn the cycle selector dial to choose from available wash cycles such as Normal, Heavy Duty, Deep Wash, Whites, Colors, Bedding/Waterproof, Quick Wash, Delicates, Activewear, Rinse + Spin, Spin Only, and Self Clean. The selected cycle will be displayed on the digital screen.
Customizing Wash Settings
After selecting a cycle, you can adjust settings like Temperature (Hot, Warm, Eco Warm, Cool, Cold), Water Level (Extra High, High, Mid, Low, Auto Level), and Soil Level (Heavy, Normal, Light) using the corresponding buttons. Additional options like Pre Soak, Fabric Softener, Delay End, and Smart Control can also be selected.
Starting a Wash Cycle
Once laundry is loaded and settings are selected, close the lid and press the 'Start/Pause' button to begin the wash cycle. The washer will automatically fill with water and proceed with the selected program.
Maintenance
Cleaning the Washer (Self Clean Cycle)
Regularly use the 'Self Clean' cycle to remove detergent residue and bacteria from the washer tub. It is recommended to run this cycle monthly or as needed. Do not add laundry or detergent during the Self Clean cycle.
Cleaning the Detergent Dispenser
Periodically remove and clean the detergent and softener dispenser drawer to prevent buildup. Rinse with warm water and a soft brush, then dry thoroughly before reinserting.
Exterior Cleaning
Wipe the exterior surfaces of the washer with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish.
Winterizing
If the washer is stored in an area subject to freezing temperatures, follow the winterizing procedure in the full user manual to drain all water and prevent damage from freezing.

Refer to the table below for common issues and their potential solutions. If the problem persists, contact Samsung customer support.
