2. Setup and Assembly

The HARPPA S5506 Travel Stroller comes largely pre-assembled. Follow these steps for initial setup.

2.1 Unfolding the Stroller

  1. Place the folded stroller on a flat surface.
  2. Release the folding latch (if present).
  3. Lift the handle and pull upwards until the frame locks into place with an audible click.
  4. Ensure all locking mechanisms are securely engaged before use.

2.2 Attaching/Checking Components

  • Ensure the wheels are securely attached and rotate freely.

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Securing Your Child with the 5-Point Harness

  1. Place your child in the stroller seat.
  2. Bring the shoulder straps over your child's shoulders and the waist straps around their waist.
  3. Insert the buckle tongues into the buckle housing until they click securely.
  4. Adjust the straps to ensure a snug, but comfortable fit.

3.2 Adjusting the Backrest

The stroller features an adjustable backrest for your child's comfort, offering multiple reclining positions from upright to fully reclined.

  1. To recline, locate the adjustment mechanism behind the backrest (often a strap or lever).
  2. Gently lower the backrest to the desired position.
  3. To raise, push the backrest upwards while adjusting the mechanism.

3.3 Engaging and Releasing the Brakes

The stroller is equipped with a pedal brake system for stability when stationary.

  • To engage the brakes: Press down firmly on the brake pedal located near the rear wheels. Ensure both wheels are locked.
  • To release the brakes: Lift the brake pedal upwards.
  • Always engage the brakes when placing or removing your child from the stroller, or when the stroller is not in motion.

3.4 Adjusting the Canopy and Using the Peekaboo Window

  • The extendable canopy provides sun protection. Pull it forward or push it back to adjust coverage.
  • The peekaboo window allows you to check on your child without disturbing them. Lift the flap on the canopy to view.

3.5 Folding the Stroller

The HARPPA S5506 stroller features an effortless one-button folding mechanism for compact storage and transport.

  1. Ensure your child is removed from the stroller.
  2. Engage the brakes.
  3. Locate the folding button on the handle (refer to Figure 3.2).
  4. Press the button and follow the stroller's natural collapsing motion until it is fully folded and latched.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Cleaning

  • Fabric Parts: The stroller's nylon fabric can be spot cleaned with a mild soap and warm water. Do not use harsh detergents or bleach. Allow to air dry completely.
  • Frame: Wipe the aluminum frame with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly to prevent rust.
  • Wheels: Periodically clean dirt and debris from the wheels and axles to ensure smooth operation.

4.2 Storage

  • Store the stroller in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Ensure the stroller is completely dry before storing to prevent mold or mildew.
  • When storing for extended periods, cover the stroller to protect it from dust.
