1. Product Overview

The DJI Mic 2 is a versatile wireless microphone system designed for various recording scenarios, including vlogs, interviews, and livestreams. It features advanced audio capabilities and a compact design for ease of use.

2. Setup

Initial Charging

Before first use, ensure all components are fully charged. Place the transmitters and receiver into the charging case. The case will automatically begin charging the units. Use the provided USB-C charging cable to charge the case itself.

Automatic Pairing

The DJI Mic 2 transmitters and receiver are pre-linked from the factory. Simply open the charging case, and the units will automatically power on and pair, ready for immediate use.

Connecting to Recording Devices

The DJI Mic 2 offers flexible connectivity options:

• Smartphones: Use the included USB-C or Lightning mobile phone adapters to connect the receiver directly to your smartphone.
• Cameras: Connect the receiver to your camera's audio input using the DJI Mic 2 Camera Audio Cable (3.5mm TRS).
• Computers/Tablets: Utilize the appropriate USB-C adapter for digital audio output.

3. Operating the DJI Mic 2

Basic Controls and Display

The receiver features a 1.1-inch OLED touchscreen and a precision parameter dial for intuitive control.

• Touchscreen: Displays essential information such as volume, battery levels, and charging status. Swipe up or down to access settings.
• Parameter Dial: Rotate the dial to adjust the gain of the receiver or transmitters quickly and accurately.

Audio Features

The DJI Mic 2 is equipped with advanced audio processing capabilities:

• High-Quality Audio Recording: Delivers clear and rich vocal recording suitable for various content creation needs.
• Intelligent Noise Cancelling: Effectively reduces ambient noise for clearer vocals, especially useful in noisy environments.
• 32-bit Float Internal Recording: Provides a high dynamic range, capturing audio nuances from quiet whispers to loud sounds without distortion, offering greater flexibility in post-production. Each transmitter has 8 GB of internal storage for up to 14 hours of uncompressed 48kHz 24-bit audio.
• Safety Track: A second audio track can be recorded at -6dB alongside your main audio track, safeguarding against unexpected audio level spikes.

DJI OsmoAudio Direct Connection

DJI Mic 2 transmitters support direct connection to Osmo Action 5 Pro, Osmo Action 4, or Osmo Pocket 3 without a receiver, simplifying your gear and workflow while delivering premium sound quality.

Magnetic Clip and Discreet Wear

Transmitters feature a user-friendly clip-on design with a magnetic snap for easy attachments. They can also be worn magnetically on the inside of clothing for discreet recording.

Stereo Recording and Flexible Post-Editing

Stereo recording is supported when paired with cameras and mobile phones. Two transmitters can record audio independently or combine them into a single track, offering more flexibility during post-editing.

Extended Range

The Mic 2 offers a 250-meter (820 ft.) maximum audio transmission range (FCC) in an unobstructed environment without interference. It is resistant to interference, allowing reliable transmission even in highly complex signal environments.

4. Maintenance

Cleaning

Regularly clean the units with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials that could damage the surface or internal components.

Storage

When not in use, store the DJI Mic 2 transmitters and receiver in their charging case to protect them and ensure they remain charged. Keep the case in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.

Battery Care

The DJI Mic 2 provides up to 18 hours of operation with the charging case. To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the batteries frequently. Charge them regularly, even if not in constant use, to maintain optimal performance.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your DJI Mic 2, consider the following:

• Connection Issues: Ensure units are fully charged and within range. Re-open the charging case to re-initiate pairing.
• Audio Quality: Check microphone placement. Ensure windscreens are properly attached in windy conditions.
• Bluetooth Limitations: Intelligent noise cancelling and internal recording cannot be enabled when the transmitter is connected to a smartphone via Bluetooth.
