5. Battery Backup Installation and Usage
The KDDY001B unit includes a battery backup feature to allow limited operation of your recliner during a power outage. This requires two 9V batteries (not included).
- Open Battery Compartment: Locate the battery compartment on the power supply unit. Gently slide or unclip the cover to open it.
- Insert Batteries: Insert two new 9V batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and - terminals match the markings inside the compartment).
- Close Compartment: Securely close the battery compartment cover.
- Backup Operation: In the event of a power outage, the recliner will draw power from the installed 9V batteries. The battery backup is intended for temporary use to return the recliner to a seated position and is not for continuous operation.

6. Operating Instructions
