5. Setup and Installation
Before installation, ensure you have all necessary tools (e.g., drill, stud finder, level, screwdriver, socket wrench). Follow these general steps:
- Prepare the Wall: Use a stud finder to locate the center of two adjacent wood studs. Mark the drilling locations. For concrete/brick walls, mark desired locations and ensure no hidden pipes or wires.
- Drill Pilot Holes: Drill pilot holes at the marked locations. The drill bit size will depend on your wall type and the lag bolts provided.
- Attach Wall Plate: Secure the wall plate assembly to the wall using the provided lag bolts and washers. Ensure the wall plate is level using the included bubble level.
- Attach TV Brackets: Attach the vertical TV bracket arms to the back of your television. Select the appropriate screws, washers, and spacers from the hardware kit that fit your TV's VESA mounting holes. Ensure the brackets are centered and securely fastened.
- Mount TV to Wall Plate: Carefully lift the television with the attached brackets and hook them onto the wall plate. Secure the TV to the wall plate using the safety screws or locking mechanisms provided.
- Cable Management: Route your TV cables through the integrated cable management clips or channels on the mount arms to maintain a tidy appearance. Use the provided cable ties.
IMPORTANT: Always verify the mount is securely fastened to the wall and the TV is securely attached to the mount before releasing the TV.
6. Operating and Adjustments
Your MOUNTUP full motion TV wall mount allows for various adjustments to achieve optimal viewing angles.
Tilting Adjustment:
The mount allows for vertical tilt. Loosen the tilt knobs or bolts on the TV brackets, adjust the TV to the desired angle (e.g., -13° to +5° for MU0028), and then securely tighten the knobs/bolts to lock the position.

Extension and Retraction:
Extend the TV away from the wall for greater flexibility or retract it closer to the wall to save space. The MU0028 extends up to 16 inches and retracts to 2.8 inches. The MU0059 extends up to 40 inches and retracts to 3.2 inches.

7. Maintenance
Regular maintenance helps ensure the longevity and safe operation of your TV wall mount.
- Check Connections: Periodically inspect all screws, bolts, and connections to ensure they remain tight and secure. Retighten if necessary.
- Clean the Mount: Wipe the mount with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
- Lubrication: The articulating joints are designed for smooth movement. If movement becomes stiff over time, a small amount of silicone-based lubricant can be applied to the pivot points.
- Weight Limits: Do not hang additional items or exceed the specified weight capacity of the mount.
8. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues during or after installation, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
- TV is not level:
Solution: Ensure the wall plate was installed level. Most mounts have a post-installation leveling adjustment feature on the TV brackets. Loosen the leveling screws, adjust the TV, and retighten. - Difficulty moving the TV (swivel/tilt):
Solution: Check if any bolts or knobs are overtightened. Loosen them slightly to allow for movement, then retighten to the desired tension. Ensure no cables are obstructing movement. - Mount feels unstable:
Solution: Immediately remove the TV. Recheck all wall mounting bolts and TV bracket screws for tightness. Ensure the mount is properly secured to solid wall studs or appropriate concrete/brick anchors. If unsure, consult a professional installer. - Missing hardware:
Solution: Refer to the package contents list. If parts are missing, contact MOUNTUP customer support for replacements.
