Operating Instructions

Ignition:

  1. Ensure the gas supply valve is open.
  2. Locate the control knob on the appliance.
  3. Push the control knob in and turn it to the "PILOT" position. Hold for approximately 30-60 seconds to purge air from the line and allow the thermocouple to heat up.
  4. While holding the knob in, press the igniter button repeatedly until the pilot flame ignites. Continue to hold the control knob in for another 10-15 seconds after ignition to ensure the pilot stays lit.
  5. Release the control knob. If the pilot extinguishes, repeat the ignition process.
  6. Once the pilot is lit, turn the control knob to the desired heat setting (e.g., "LOW" to "HIGH" or specific temperature settings if thermostatically controlled). The main burner will ignite.

Thermostatic Control:

This unit features a built-in thermostat. Once the main burner is lit, the thermostat will regulate the heat output to maintain the set room temperature. The burner will cycle on and off as needed. Note that this unit does not support a millivolt remote controller.

Turning Off the Appliance:

  1. To turn off the main burner, turn the control knob to the "PILOT" position. The pilot light will remain lit.
  2. To completely shut off the appliance, turn the control knob to the "OFF" position. This will extinguish both the main burner and the pilot light.
  3. For extended periods of non-use, it is recommended to close the main gas supply valve.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the safe and efficient operation of your gas log set. Always ensure the appliance is completely cool and the gas supply is turned off before performing any maintenance.

  • Cleaning Logs: Periodically inspect the ceramic logs for soot buildup. If soot is present, gently clean the logs with a soft brush. Do not use abrasive cleaners or water, as this can damage the ceramic material.
  • Burner and Pilot Assembly: Keep the burner ports and pilot assembly free of dust, lint, and debris. A vacuum cleaner with a brush attachment can be used for this purpose. Ensure the pilot flame is strong and blue.
  • Gas Connections: Annually check all gas connections for leaks using a soapy water solution. Bubbles indicate a leak. If a leak is detected, immediately turn off the gas supply and contact a qualified service technician.
  • Air Circulation: Ensure that the air intake and exhaust areas of the appliance are not obstructed.
  • Professional Inspection: It is recommended to have the appliance inspected annually by a qualified service technician to ensure proper operation and safety.
