2. Setup and Installation
Follow these steps for initial setup and driver installation. The printer offers multiple connectivity options to suit your needs.
2.1 Unpacking and Initial Preparation
- Carefully remove the printer from its packaging.
- Remove all protective tapes and packing materials from the printer, including any internal packing around the toner cartridge. Ensure no black paper or other packing material remains inside the toner compartment.
- Install the toner cartridge. The new product comes with a 700-page initial cartridge. Ensure it is properly seated and the contacts are clean.
- Load paper into the paper input tray.
2.2 Driver Installation and Connectivity
The PANTUM M6500NW supports various connection methods for printing from different devices.

Option 1: Connect with USB (For PC)
Connect the printer to your PC using a USB cable. Download and install the driver, choosing the 'connect with USB' option. Only one PC can be connected for printing via USB.
Option 2: Connect with a Wireline Network (For PC)
Ensure your PC is connected to the Wi-Fi router. Connect the printer to the router via an Ethernet cable. Download and install the driver, choosing the 'connect with Wi-Fi' option. After installation, the USB cable can be removed, allowing multiple devices to connect wirelessly.
Option 3: Connect with Wi-Fi (For PC and Mobile Devices)
For PC: Ensure your PC is connected to the Wi-Fi router. Connect the printer to the PC via a USB cable to configure Wi-Fi. Download and install the driver, choosing 'connect with Wi-Fi'. Once configured, the USB cable can be removed, and multiple devices can connect wirelessly. Note: 5GHz Wi-Fi networks are not supported.
For Mobile Devices (Smartphones/Tablets):
- Wi-Fi Hotspot Printing: Connect your phone to the Wi-Fi hotspot of the printer (e.g., "DERECT-PANTUM M6500..."). You can print directly using your phone's plug-in or by downloading the PANTUM APP.
- Wi-Fi Router Printing: Ensure your mobile device is connected to your Wi-Fi router. Open the Pantum App, add the printer, and enter your Wi-Fi router's password to connect. Note: 5GHz Wi-Fi networks are not supported.

3. Operating Instructions
The PANTUM M6500NW offers fast and reliable performance for your daily printing, scanning, and copying needs.
3.1 Printing

4.1 Toner Cartridge Replacement
The printer uses PA-210 toner cartridges. The initial cartridge provides approximately 700 pages (at 5% coverage according to ISO/IEC 19752). Compatible original PA-210 toner cartridges yield up to 1,600 pages.

- Q: How to print wirelessly via WiFi hotspot on cell phone?
A: You need to connect your phone to the Wi-Fi hotspot of the printer, such as "DERECT-PANTUM M6500...". Then, you can either print directly with your phone's plug-in or download the PANTUM APP, connect to the Wi-Fi hotspot, click 'Add Printer', find the printer, and connect to print.
- Q: How to install driver for wireless printing via Wi-Fi router? (for PC)
A: Connect the printer to the PC with a USB cable. Make sure your PC is connected to the Wi-Fi router. Download and install the driver, choosing "connect with Wi-Fi". - Q: What is the difference between WiFi router printing and WiFi hotspot printing?
A: WiFi Hotspot is a Wi-Fi hotspot built into the printer. The network is not available when connecting to print. It is suitable for mobile devices such as cell phones and tablets. Wireless Router printing uses your own wireless router for your area network. The network is available when connecting to print. It is mainly used for PC, also cell phones and tablets (you need to download the PANTUM APP).
- Q: How do I troubleshoot a paper jam?
A: Remove the paper, as appropriate, until the LCD returns to print-ready status. Or restart the printer. Refer to Section 13 of the User's Manual for more detailed instructions.
- Q: Why are there spots or streaks in the print?
A: Ensure that the laser toner cartridge is properly installed and that the print media is properly installed. Clean the paper feed channel inside the machine. Consider cleaning or replacing the laser toner cartridge with a new one. Refer to Section 13 of the User's Manual for more detailed instructions.
