2. SIM Card Insertion

Locate the SIM card slot on the device. Insert a valid GSM/3G/4G SIM card (not included) with an active data plan. Ensure the SIM card is correctly oriented and securely seated.

3. Antenna Connection

Screw the provided antenna onto the "ANT" connector on the top of the RTU5023 unit. Ensure it is finger-tight for optimal signal reception.

4. Sensor Connection

Connect the temperature and humidity sensor to the designated "T&H Sensor Input" terminal block. Refer to the wiring diagram on the device for correct polarity (GND, Data, VCC). Ensure the sensor is placed in the area where environmental conditions need to be monitored.

5. Power Connection

Connect the power adapter to the "DC IN" terminal block, observing polarity (+ and -). Plug the power adapter into a standard AC 100-240V outlet. The device will power on automatically.

6. Initial Configuration (via SMS)

The device is primarily configured via SMS commands. You will need to send specific SMS commands from an authorized phone number to the SIM card number inserted in the RTU5023 unit.

  • Set Authorized Numbers: Send an SMS to add up to 10 authorized phone numbers that will receive alerts. The first number added will be the primary administrator.
  • Set Alarm Thresholds: Configure the desired temperature and humidity thresholds that will trigger an alarm.
  • Configure Power Outage Alerts: Ensure power outage detection and alerts are enabled.

Refer to the detailed SMS command list in the supplementary documentation or the device's official app for specific syntax.

Operating the Device

1. Environmental Monitoring

Once configured, the RTU5023 continuously monitors the temperature and humidity levels via its connected sensor. It also monitors the incoming power supply.
