5.2 Bobbin Winding
- Place a spool of thread on the thread bracket.
- Guide the thread through the tension disc for bobbin winding.
- Place an empty bobbin onto the bobbin winder spindle.
- Wrap the thread around the bobbin a few times manually.
- Push the bobbin winder spindle to the right.
- Turn on the machine using the power switch. The bobbin will automatically wind.
- Once the bobbin is full, turn off the machine, cut the thread, and push the spindle back to the left.
5.3 Threading the Machine
- Ensure the machine is unplugged or turned off.
- Raise the needle to its highest position using the handwheel.
- Place a spool of thread on the thread bracket.
- Guide the thread through the upper thread guides as indicated in the manual's diagrams (refer to the physical manual for detailed threading path).
- Thread the needle from front to back. Use the included threader if necessary.
- Insert the wound bobbin into the bobbin case under the needle plate, ensuring the thread unwinds in the correct direction (usually counter-clockwise).
- Close the bobbin cover plate.
- Hold the upper thread, turn the handwheel towards you to lower and raise the needle, catching the bobbin thread. Pull both threads under the presser foot and towards the back of the machine.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Preparing to Sew
- Place the fabric under the presser foot.
- Lower the presser foot using the presser foot lifting bar.
- Ensure the needle is in the highest position before starting.
6.2 Starting to Sew
The machine offers two ways to start sewing:
- Hand Switch: Use the ON/OFF switch located on the machine body to start and stop sewing. There are typically two speed settings (low/high).
- Foot Pedal: Connect the foot pedal to the designated jack on the machine. Press the foot pedal to start sewing and release to stop. The foot pedal provides variable speed control based on pressure.
Note: Do not use both the hand switch and foot pedal simultaneously.
6.3 Adjusting Stitch Tension
The tension dial controls the tightness of the upper thread. Adjust as needed for different fabrics to achieve balanced stitches. Turn clockwise for tighter tension, counter-clockwise for looser tension.
6.4 Finishing a Seam
- Stop the machine.
- Raise the needle to its highest position.
- Raise the presser foot.
- Pull the fabric gently towards the back of the machine.
- Cut the threads using the built-in thread cutter or scissors, leaving approximately 10-15 cm of thread.
