6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To clean your keyboard, power it off and disconnect it from your computer. Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the keycaps and chassis. For deeper cleaning, you may use a can of compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keys. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

6.2 Switch Replacement (Hot-Swappable)

The EY5G001 features hot-swappable switch sockets, allowing you to change switches without soldering. Use a switch puller (not included, but commonly available) to carefully remove existing switches. Align the pins of the new switch with the sockets and press firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure the keyboard is powered off before replacing switches.

7. Troubleshooting

  • Keyboard not responding:
    • Ensure the keyboard is charged.
    • Check the connection: For wired, ensure the USB cable is securely plugged in. For 2.4 GHz, verify the dongle is inserted and the keyboard is in 2.4 GHz mode. For Bluetooth, ensure it's paired and selected (BT1/BT2/BT3).
    • Try restarting your computer.
  • Wireless connection issues:
    • Move the keyboard closer to the receiver/device.
    • Avoid interference from other wireless devices.
    • Re-pair the Bluetooth connection or re-insert the 2.4 GHz dongle.
  • RGB lighting not working:
    • Ensure the keyboard is powered on.
    • Check if the lighting is turned off or set to minimum brightness using the Fn key combinations.
    • If using software, ensure the settings are correctly applied.
  • Specific keys not working:
    • If a key is not responding, try gently pressing it multiple times.
    • If you have replaced switches, ensure the new switch is fully seated and its pins are not bent.
    • Consider performing a factory reset (refer to software or manufacturer's website for instructions).
