This device is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen for easy readability and operation, powered by the Wince operating system. It supports multiple languages and offers various display modes, including 2D and 3D map views. 2. Package Contents

Upon unboxing your Lehwey GPS Navigation System, please verify that all the following components are included:

  • GPS Navigation Unit: The main 7-inch touchscreen device.
  • Back Bracket: Used to attach the GPS unit to the mount.

3. Setup

3.1 Charging the Device

Before first use, it is recommended to fully charge the GPS unit. The device has a built-in 2500mAh rechargeable Li-battery.

  • Connect the USB Charging Cable to the GPS unit's charging port.
  • Connect the other end of the USB cable to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
  • Alternatively, use the Cigarette Lighter Charger to power the device directly from your vehicle's 12-24V power outlet.

3.2 Mounting the GPS Unit

The GPS unit can be mounted on your vehicle's windshield or dashboard using the provided suction cup mount.

  • Attach the Back Bracket to the rear of the GPS Navigation Unit.
  • Secure the Suction Cup Mount to the Back Bracket.
  • For Windshield Mounting: Clean the desired area on the windshield. Press the suction cup firmly against the glass and engage the lever to create a vacuum seal.
  • For Dashboard Mounting: Ensure the dashboard surface is clean and smooth. Press the suction cup firmly onto the dashboard and engage the lever. For textured dashboards, a dashboard disc (not included) may be required for optimal adhesion.
  • Adjust the angle of the mount to ensure a clear view of the screen without obstructing your driving view.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Initial Power On and Language Selection

Press and hold the power button to turn on the device. Upon first boot, you may be prompted to select your preferred language. The system supports 44 languages for voice guidance and interface.

4.2 Map Updates

The device comes preloaded with 2023 North American maps (US, Canada, Mexico) and offers free lifetime map updates. To update maps:

  • Connect the GPS unit to a computer using the USB Charging Cable.
  • Follow the instructions provided on the device screen or refer to the manufacturer's website for specific software and procedures for map updates.

4.3 Setting a Destination

The GPS system allows you to set destinations using various methods:

  • By Address: Enter the street number, street name, city, and state/province.
  • By Coordinates: Input specific latitude and longitude values.
  • By Point of Interest (POI): Search for common locations such as gas stations, restaurants, parking lots, or specific landmarks.
  • You can also add multiple intermediate objectives to your route for multi-stop journeys.

4.4 Navigation Modes and Vehicle Settings

The Lehwey GPS supports 7 navigation modes to optimize routes based on your vehicle type:

  • Truck: Professional mode allowing input of vehicle dimensions (length, height, width), weight, axles, maximum speed, and load to avoid restricted roads.
  • Car: Standard navigation for passenger vehicles.
  • Bus: Optimized routes for bus travel.
  • Pedestrian: Routes suitable for walking.
  • Taxi: Specific routing for taxi services.
  • Bike: Routes optimized for bicycle travel.
  • Emergency: For emergency vehicle routing.

Select the appropriate vehicle type in the settings menu to ensure the most accurate and safe routing.

4.5 Safety Features and Voice Guidance

The GPS system includes several features to enhance driving safety:

  • Speed Warnings: Alerts you when exceeding the speed limit.
  • Speed Camera and Traffic Light Notifications: Provides warnings for upcoming speed cameras and traffic lights.
  • Lane Assist: Guides you into the correct lane for upcoming turns or exits.
  • Voice Guidance: Clear, easy-to-understand male and female voice prompts in 44 languages.
  • FM Transmitter: Connect the navigator to your car audio system via FM for louder voice instructions.

On-screen information includes current speed, remaining distance to destination, and estimated arrival time.

5. Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Device

To maintain the clarity of the touchscreen and the overall condition of the device:

  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe the screen and exterior.
  • For stubborn smudges, slightly dampen the cloth with water or a screen cleaner designed for electronics.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or aerosol sprays directly on the device.

5.2 Battery Care

The device contains a Lithium Polymer battery. To prolong battery life:

  • Avoid exposing the device to extreme temperatures (hot or cold).
  • Charge the battery regularly, but avoid leaving it fully discharged for extended periods.
  • If storing the device for a long time, charge it to about 50% before storage.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1 Device Not Powering On

  • Ensure the battery is charged. Connect the device to a power source using the provided charger and cable.
  • Check if the power button is being pressed and held sufficiently.
  • If using the car charger, ensure the vehicle's power outlet is functioning.

6.2 GPS Signal Issues

  • Ensure the device has a clear view of the sky. Obstructions like tall buildings, tunnels, or dense foliage can interfere with the GPS signal.
  • Move the vehicle to an open area.
  • Allow a few minutes for the device to acquire satellite signals, especially after being off for a long time or moved a significant distance.

6.3 Incorrect Route Calculation

  • Verify that the correct vehicle type (e.g., Car, Truck) is selected in the navigation settings.
  • Ensure that any specific vehicle dimensions or weight restrictions are correctly entered for truck mode.
  • Check if the maps are up to date. Refer to Section 4.2 for map update instructions.
  • Confirm the destination address or coordinates are entered accurately.

6.4 Touchscreen Unresponsive

  • Perform a soft reset by pressing and holding the power button until the device restarts.
  • Ensure the screen is clean and free of debris or moisture.
