2. Safety Information
- Keep the keyboard away from liquids and excessive moisture.

4. Setup
4.1 Physical Setup
- Unpack: Carefully remove the keyboard and accessories from the packaging.
- Position: Place the keyboard on a stable, flat surface.
- Adjust Angle: The keyboard features an ergonomic angle design. Adjust the kickstand feet on the underside of the keyboard to your preferred typing angle.

4.2 Operating System Switch
The Keychron K6 is compatible with both macOS and Windows operating systems. Locate the OS toggle switch on the side of the keyboard.
- Slide the switch to "Mac/iOS" for Apple devices.
- Slide the switch to "Win/Android" for Windows and Android devices.

4.3 Connectivity Modes (Wireless & Wired)
The K6 supports both Bluetooth wireless and USB Type-C wired connections.
4.3.1 Bluetooth Wireless Connection
- Ensure the OS toggle switch (Section 4.2) is set correctly for your device.
- Locate the mode switch on the side of the keyboard and slide it to the "BT" (Bluetooth) position.
- To enter pairing mode, press and hold the Fn1 + Q, Fn1 + W, or Fn1 + E keys for 4 seconds. The backlight will flash rapidly to indicate it's ready to pair.
- On your device (smartphone, laptop, iPad), enable Bluetooth and search for "Keychron K6".
- Select "Keychron K6" to connect. The backlight will stop flashing upon successful connection.
- You can pair up to three devices and switch between them by pressing Fn1 + Q, Fn1 + W, or Fn1 + E.

4.3.2 USB Type-C Wired Connection
- Ensure the OS toggle switch (Section 4.2) is set correctly for your device.
- Locate the mode switch on the side of the keyboard and slide it to the "Cable" position.
- Connect the provided USB Type-C cable to the keyboard's port and the other end to your computer's USB port.
- The keyboard will automatically be recognized and function as a wired device.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Key Functions and Multimedia Keys
The K6 features a 65% layout, retaining essential multimedia and function keys accessible via the Fn1 key.
- Fn1 + F1-F12: Access standard F-row functions.
- Fn1 + Number Row: Access multimedia controls (e.g., volume, play/pause) as indicated by secondary legends on the keycaps.
- Dedicated Keys: The keyboard includes dedicated keys for Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down.
5.2 Backlight Control
The Keychron K6 features an RGB backlight with 18 types of flashing light modes and a static white backlight.
- Press the Light Bulb key (usually located on the top right) to cycle through different backlight effects.
- Use Fn1 + Left Arrow / Right Arrow to change backlight colors (for certain RGB modes).
- Use Fn1 + Up Arrow / Down Arrow to adjust backlight brightness.

5.3 Hot-swapping Switches
The hot-swappable version of the K6 allows you to change mechanical switches without soldering. This provides flexibility to customize your typing experience.
- Power Off: Ensure the keyboard is disconnected or powered off before attempting to remove switches.
- Remove Keycap: Use the keycap puller to gently remove the desired keycap.
- Remove Switch: Use the switch puller to carefully grip the switch from the top and bottom clips. Pull straight up to remove the switch from the PCB.
- Install New Switch: Align the pins of the new 3-pin or 5-pin MX mechanical switch with the holes on the PCB. Gently push the switch down until it clicks into place. Ensure the pins are not bent.
- Replace Keycap: Place the keycap back onto the new switch.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Cleaning the Keyboard
- Dust Removal: Use a can of compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps.
- Surface Cleaning: Gently wipe the keycaps and keyboard frame with a soft, lint-free cloth dampened with a small amount of water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals.
- Deep Cleaning: For thorough cleaning, keycaps can be removed using the keycap puller and washed with mild soap and water. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching.
6.2 Battery Charging
The Keychron K6 is equipped with a 4000 mAh rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery.
- Connect the keyboard to a USB power source (computer USB port or USB wall adapter) using the provided USB Type-C cable.
- The charging indicator light will show the charging status. It typically turns solid when fully charged.
