3.4 Micro SD Card (Optional)
For full resolution footage, it is recommended to insert a micro SD card into the aircraft's designated slot. Without an SD card, footage will be saved to the DJI Fly App at a lower resolution.
3.5 Software and Firmware Updates
Ensure your aircraft and remote controller firmware are up to date. Connect the aircraft with the remote controller. The DJI Fly app will prompt you for firmware updates if available. Follow the instructions to update the firmware of the aircraft, remote controller, battery, and other modules. For the latest aircraft firmware, the Remote ID will only be activated when the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus is used.
Note: The aircraft will restart multiple times during an update and automatically power off after completing the update.
4. Operating the DJI Mini 4 Pro

4.5 Video Transmission
The DJI Mini 4 Pro features Flagship O4 Video Transmission, providing ultra-responsive control and smooth 1080p/60fps FHD live feed image quality up to 20 km (12 mi) in FCC standard environments. Max transmission distance varies by interference level:
- Unobstructed: Strong Interference (urban landscape, approx. 1.5-4 km), Medium Interference (suburban landscape, approx. 4-10 km), Low Interference (suburb/seaside, approx. 10-20 km).
- Obstructed: Low Interference and Obstructed by Buildings (approx. 0-0.5 km), Low Interference and Obstructed by Trees (approx. 0.5-3 km).
Data tested under FCC standard in an unobstructed environment without interference. Used for reference purposes only and provides no guarantee for actual transmission distance.

4.7 Flight Safety and Regulations
The DJI Mini 4 Pro aircraft weighs less than 249 g when used only with the DJI Mini 4 Pro Intelligent Flight Battery, potentially exempting it from certain registration requirements for recreational purposes in some regions. However, always check and strictly follow the latest local laws and regulations before flying. If your drone needs to be registered, such as for commercial purposes, please fly with the Intelligent Flight Battery Plus.
5. Maintenance
- Propeller Care: Regularly inspect propellers for damage. Replace any bent, cracked, or chipped propellers using the provided screwdriver and spare screws.
- Gimbal Protection: Always attach the gimbal protector when the drone is not in use or during transport to prevent damage to the camera and gimbal.
- Battery Storage: Store batteries in a cool, dry place. Avoid extreme temperatures. If not used for extended periods, discharge batteries to approximately 50% for optimal longevity.
- Cleaning: Keep the drone and remote controller clean and free of dust and debris. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning.
6. Troubleshooting
6.1 Update Failures
Update failures can occur due to several factors:
- Battery level of the aircraft or remote controller is below 20%.
- Aircraft or remote controller is powered off during an update.
- Network is disconnected during a firmware download.
- Smartphone interface is switched to other apps during a firmware download.
If an update fails, ensure sufficient battery, stable network, and restart the aircraft and remote controller, then try again.
6.2 Lost Drone / Return to Home Issues
The drone's Advanced RTH feature allows it to automatically return to its takeoff location. If signal is lost or battery is critically low, the drone will initiate RTH. Ensure the home point is accurately recorded before flight.
