Setup

1. Initial Charging

Before first use, fully charge the earbuds and the charging case. Place the earbuds into the charging case and connect the USB-C cable to the case and a power source. The LED indicator on the case will show charging status.

2. Pairing with a Device

  1. Open the charging case with the earbuds inside.
  2. The earbuds will automatically enter pairing mode (LEDs on earbuds will flash).
  3. On your device (smartphone, tablet, computer), enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  4. Select "Technics EAH-AZ40M2" from the list of devices.
  5. Once connected, the earbuds' LEDs will stop flashing.

3. Fitting the Earbuds

Select the earpiece size that provides the best seal and comfort. A proper fit is crucial for optimal sound quality and effective noise cancellation. Gently insert the earbuds into your ears and twist slightly to secure them.

Operating Instructions

1. Power On/Off

  • Power On: Open the charging case or remove the earbuds from the case.
  • Power Off: Place the earbuds back into the charging case and close the lid.

2. Music Playback

Use the touch sensors on the earbuds to control music playback:

  • Play/Pause: Single tap on either earbud.
  • Next Track: Double tap on the right earbud.
  • Previous Track: Triple tap on the left earbud.
  • Volume Up: Tap and hold on the right earbud.
  • Volume Down: Tap and hold on the left earbud.

3. Call Management

Manage calls using the touch sensors:

  • Answer/End Call: Single tap on either earbud.
  • Reject Call: Tap and hold on either earbud.

4. Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) & Ambient Sound Modes

The earbuds feature Active Noise Cancelling to reduce external noise and an Ambient Sound mode to allow surrounding sounds to be heard.

  • Switch Modes: Double tap on the left earbud to cycle through ANC On, Ambient Sound, and Off modes.

5. Multipoint Connectivity

The EAH-AZ40M2 supports connecting to up to three Bluetooth devices simultaneously, allowing seamless switching between them.

  • Pair each device individually as described in the "Pairing with a Device" section.
  • The earbuds will automatically connect to the last three paired devices when powered on.
  • Audio will automatically switch to the device playing content or receiving a call.

6. Technics Audio Connect App

Download the Technics Audio Connect app from your device's app store for enhanced control and customization options, including equalizer settings, touch sensor customization, and firmware updates.

Charging

The earbuds provide approximately 5.5 hours of playback with Active Noise Cancelling enabled. The charging case provides an additional 12.5 hours, totaling up to 18 hours of listening time.

  • Earbuds Charging: Place the earbuds into the charging case. They will automatically begin charging.
  • Case Charging: Connect the supplied USB-C cable to the charging port on the case and a USB power adapter (not supplied). A full charge for the case takes approximately 2 hours.

Maintenance & Care

  • Clean the earbuds and charging case regularly with a soft, dry cloth.
  • Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Ensure the charging contacts on both the earbuds and case are clean and dry.
  • Store the earbuds in their charging case when not in use to protect them and maintain battery life.
  • The earbuds are IPX4 sweat resistant, meaning they can withstand splashes and sweat, but are not waterproof. Do not submerge them in water.
